I'm very unhappy with eBay. I've had more than a couple of instances where I've gotten screwed as a buyer. As a seller, no instances.

The last one I had as a buyer was a couple of months ago. I purchased a one year subscription of the WSJ and the subscription started, but after seven months it ceased. I contacted the Journal and they told me that the last payment by had not been paid, I offered to pay it but they wouldn't allow it. I contacted the seller and heard nothing. I contacted both eBay and PayPal, and both stated that since the transaction happened more than six months prior I was out of luck. I again contacted the seller and again heard nothing.

I now go out of my way to avoid eBay.

I only buy from eBay as a last resort. Apple does not sell Blackmagic eGPU with Vega 56 anymore. There is always a dirty feeling when I have to buy from eBay. They make their money from the sellers, not buyers. I am not really their customer. From my experience, they go out their way to protect the sellers. The seller in this case has a 100% score which is deceptive. IMO, it is worthwhile to leave a complaint on BBB about eBay practice. It will be searchable on the net.

It sounds like you're creating conspiracy theories concerning why your eBay order was cancelled. Who knows why the seller cancelled it. Sometimes eBay won't let you leave negative feedback until a certain number of days has passed. It should tell you on the feedback page what day you will be allowed to leave negative feedback. However, in my opinion, an order cancellation is not appropriate grounds for leaving negative feedback as long as you have received a refund. If you have not received a refund then negative feedback would be appropriate. There are very few instances where negative feedback would be appropriate. You should always work out problems with the seller first. If you are left with an outstanding problem the seller is not willing to rectify then it is appropriate to leave negative feedback. If you have received a refund for a cancelled order then you have no outstanding problem.

The seller had 2 units for sale. I bought the first unit on eBay and paid by PayPal immediately. A few days later, the unit was not shipped yet and so I contacted the seller. He told me that I was using some other payment method and it did not go through yet. I corrected him on that and he promised that he would ship out the unit the next business day. A few days later, nothing happened and I contacted him again. He told me that his account was locked up and he couldn't ship out the unit. I then contacted eBay support. The eBay support person told me that the seller's account was not locked up.

Then I received a cancellation. So I contacted eBay support again and complained the situation. The support person checked the seller's message logs and confirmed my suspicion. She say that she would log his behavior on the system but re-stated that I would not be allowed to enter a feedback.
