But an internet usage-based survey found a slight BB market share increase in the last month.

This would be an expected causal effect with additional BB10 users, since that OS is more web based over BB7. Still, surveys are showing that Blackberry market share is so small now, that it may not even be included in future surveys as it is less than 0.5%. It will simply be 'lumped' in with the 'other' category (think Symbian and Palm), until Blackberry mobile dies.

I have my corporate curve. It does the job - it's nice only having to remember to charge it every week.

I agree with this. The small screen is annoying. The usability of the OS is just OK, but damn the battery lasts forever and the thing is tough. I have dropped it several times and nothing is broken at all. But I only use it for work email, work calendar and work phone calls. I don't even text on it.

For those that aren't old geezers, Lotus Notes is what they used for email "back in the day". You know. Back when music came in 45, 33, and 78 RPMs and the Internet was still called the Arpanet.

My company still uses Lotus Notes for email and for countless other things. And the company I work for employs over 200,000 people worldwide. It still stinks for email.

Won't be too long now, I heard they were down to their last 10 million legacy users.

Are you corporate users given the option for a different phone?

Just curious, my Mum still totes a BlackBerry (alongside a personal iPhone) for work purposes, but mainly because they are too cheap upgrade managements phones unless they are damaged beyond repair.

New members automatically get an iPhone.

Over at Crackberry there was a guy posting that iPhone had "fallen to 15 percent market share" which was "only 3 times" BB's current market share. Talk about reality distortion. I responded reminding him that Google and Apple own mobile right now and that BB and possibly Windows Phone are on their way to being lumped in with "other."

Still, I don't think BB or WP will go under as quickly as Palm did. MS can prop up a losing division for years. Look how long they kept Xbox on life support. BB sells a lot of enterprise software and if they can figure out how to bring their cash burn rate into line with the trickle of revenue they get from enterprise software and the trickle of devices they sell they will be around "a while" as well.

Blackberry won't die IF they split their mobile division off as a consumer write-off. Their pride is getting in the way of their ability to recover. They could continue making phones (executive phones for the business market AND continue to support their consumer legacy devices by using a piggyback method on their current hardware. BUT they need to stop making anything for the consumer market now and focus on their core business of enterprise.) Doing anything else is simply foolish at this point and continues to bleed cash reserves they don't have.
They seriously need to take a page out of Steve Jobs book from when he returned to Apple in 96/97.

I loved my Crackberry, sadly I was very disappointed with the Z10 that I really didn't feel like keeping up with BB anymore.

My GF will get getting one for work, but really with BBM on iOS now, I see no reason to touch it. My workplace is BYOD, so I'm sticking with my iPhone.

It's game over.
Rim was euthanized, now blackberry is sputtering. They simply cannot compete, in hardware or software.

As for their Mdm solution, no one cares.
They have been giving away bes subscription and free upgrades to thier enterprise clients, through the retention department( I heard they even had to throw in some free bb10 devices to certain customers).

Blackberry could cease operations as early as the first half of 2015 (barring anymore financial infusions from outside investors).

Its been a month since I switched from Xperia Z1 to Z30. (before that I've had all versions of iPhones)
Don't regret one bit. As a communication device (phone, email and text) this is by far the best device I've had. Hub is fantastic and everything is in once place which i just love..
I have got all my important android apps now so i don't miss anything!!

Other than the camera quality, I just love everything about this phone.

If you're looking for a phone, the Z30 is definitely worth a look.

I still have a corporate blackberry. I forward the voice to my iPhone, so I only carry two phones when I'm on the job.

It looks like BBRY has started to find its way out of the woods, though they aren't a hardware company any more...

I know this doesn't quite fit in the Blackberry thread but I still have a corporate Android phone... for another month until I can finally dump it for an iPhone. I'm pretty sure the last Blackberries are gone around our office and more and more users are figuring out Android (with what our IT department does to it) isn't much better.
