They are great! The sound quality seems to have a little more bass than the EarPods (in a good way)! Overall not a huge improvement in sounds quality, however they are absolutely fantastic! The no wires feeling is strange, but so good! They are so light that it feels like you don't have them in your ears; almost like the music is coming from nowhere, it's just kind of there.

And I can't stress this enough: they fit so well, it's almost impossible for them to fall out of my ears! They simply won't fall out if you're running or jumping!

I love them!
Glad to hear all of this. How did the EarPods fit in your ears?

At lunchtime I was outside walking with my iPhone SE in my pocket and the airpods kept on cutting out. They work fine above my waist, but seem to cut out when I'm outdoors and they are below the waist, or behind my back in a backpack.
Hopefully this will go away or it's just my pair.

Can anybody try the AirPods out with a Mac while using the mic (FaceTime for instance)? I'm curious to see if audio quality degrades when the mic is active (as it normally does with Bluetooth headsets that are forced to switch to the two way profile).

Mine will be delivered on tuesday morning here in the U.S.

but I am so tempted to stop by my local apple store tomorrow morning... my excitement for this is too much to handle.

Same anxiety, haha, but I am so jealous. I was stuck with finals and didn't notice the pre-order had begun earlier that day.

I hope Best Buy has them tomorrow as I'm in my hometown / no Apple Store. :(

Ok it seems that my iPhone was too close to my wireless Logitech mouse (on my right), causing interference with the AirPods. I moved my iPhone to the left of me, and have had no disconnections at all for over 20 minutes now :)

I'm a recent grad myself so I understand the struggle of finals. Good luck getting a pair, it'll be a good treat after taking finals.

I'm going to try tomorrow as well partly for the anticipation killing me but I'm not going to be home half the day on Tuesday so I don't want them sitting on my apt door step for eight hours unattended.

Question for owners: can you advance Keynote slides with them? (as in holding in your hand and tapping opposed to scratching your ears in front of an audience :) ).

#PoppingGate has only just begun. I'm hearing many other reports of sound skips and cracks on Social Media.

I managed to get a pair from the Apple Store in Broadway in Sydney and have been testing them out for the last 15 mins.

Fit: Fits perfectly and there are no issues of them falling out. It just sat in my ear as I wandered around the house. They almost feel like they're not there cos they're so light.

Charging case: Standard Apple white plastic. Magnetic closure and snaps close very satisfyingly. The AirPods themselves also magnetically snap into their slots.

Sound: They do sound a bit clearer and better than the standard EarPods. I'm no audiophile but I'm very happy with the sound quality.

Connection: Took less than 5 seconds on the iPhone 7 plus. Opened the case and they automatically appeared on the phone screen. Opened my MacBook Pro and they showed up in less than 5 seconds under the bluetooth tab.

Transition between iPhone and MacBook:
Had music playing on the iPhone. Turned on the music on the MacBook and the music in the AirPods automatically stops. MB music plays through the speakers and doesn't automatically play in the AirPods though. You have to physically select AirPods in the bluetooth tab.
Opened the music app on the iPhone and the message "Looks like you're listening music on another device. To resume listening here, just press play". I did and the music from the iPhone came back into the AirPods.

Overall very happy with the purchase. I'm most satisfied with the simple connection and transition, and the fact that they fit perfectly with no risk of falling out.

Happy to take any questions :)

I'm wondering how the Siri controls work with a non-Apple music or podcast app. For example, in Overcast (a free podcast app with a premium subscription) can Siri pause/skip forward/skip back, etc? Or do the Siri audio controls only work in Apple's stock apps?

Thanks for sharing!

A cool new feature which makes apple watch better is that you can answer a phone call on the apple watch and continue the conversation via the airpods so that other people nearby can't hear the person on the other end.

Unfortunately before when you answered a call on the apple watch, the call was via the apple watch speaker and so everyone around you could hear the person on the other end. Airpods have solved that problem.

I just tried this out and it works pretty well.

I haven't had any of that in an hour and a half of using them. People don't have another device on their person that is causing an interference by any chance?

So... Can you use them when working out? I'm especially interested in how they might work for prone exercises like bench press...?

Yup! They stay in very well. Benched with them about an hour ago and they didn't come loose at all, I was actually pretty shocked.

Isn't this to be expected? The case is a charger you know.

Mine came at 26%, case at 78%. Doesn't seem to charge them until they're paired. Almost like they're in a deep sleep mode.

Great info. SO excited to pick mine up in a couple hours.

How can this be that for me (and I suspect many others), this is the single most exciting Apple release in 2016?

Yes, the quality is attrocious when microphone active, there's no way around that, as bluetooth doesn't have a way of sending and receiving high quality audio with one connection, and mac only supports older version of protocols for doing so.

It might improve a little if apple deign to finally implement HFP 1.6 on macOS, as the currently supported 1.5 is restricted to crappy 8khz SCO, 1.6 at least allows 16khz SBC.

Bought mine on December 22. So happy with them. Liberating, intuitive, practical.

Those still searching should try Telstra Shops. I got mine from the Discovery Store (246-260 Bourke St, Melbourne).
