Apple isn't going to make a sliiiiightly smaller MB model because some people are whinging over a very small difference. It would make no sense to make a 12" and 13.3" MB. They're more likely to make an 8.6", 10" or 11" machine than a 12" MB.
I was sceptical about the size of the new MB as well............until I brought my PB over to an Apple reseller and placed them side by side. My 12" PB was taller than the MB, and thicker. The 12" PB was 2 fingerwidths longer. For those of you who are complaining about the size of the MB, you really should see them side by side.
IThey're around the same size. In fact, my 13.3" MB fits inside my 12" PB's STM shoulder bag, so a new bag wasn't required when I sold my 12" PB.
For those complaining about the portability of the MB, I'll admit that it's heavier than the 12" PB. You're right. However, you're gonna have to do better than "it's 0.5 lbs heavier." Go to a gym and lift some weights. Hopefully, that 1/2 lb won't kill your shoulders anymore.

Actually the macbook fits better (than the 12.1") in coach class seats, as it's a bit shorter, so you can move the screen back further.
If you have ever used a MB on an airplane, you'd probably have to admit to all of us that "you have no idea what you're going on about." The 12" PB is taller when the lid is open, and was harder to use on an airplane. I've been on 2 airplanes with my MB, and am flying again in 9 days.
