Did you setup as new or restore from a backup? Setting up from new makes a positive difference.
I transferred directly from another iPhone so didn’t set up as new. Will consider it as an option if it doesn’t improve after 3-4 days

I picked up an Air to see (within the 14 days) whether I can deal with its shortcomings, in particular with respect to battery. I have a 16PM and hate that brick of a phone. If I get on with the Air then I will trade in the 16PM with Apple who will credit back to my payment method. Anyway, I am in love with the form factor of the Air, that much is clear. So much so that I know I will never buy a Pro Max again long as they continue to be heavy and unwieldy.

So If I choose to return the Air, I will be sticking with the 16 PM and will wait for that Fold next year. I will not be touching that hideous brick that is the 17 PM under any circumstances.

I’ve been using my air since yesterday and the form factor is pretty amazing. The phone is so light and comfortable to hold. The speaker is the thing I was worried about most and it appears it may be acceptable as it’s nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. Can’t comment on battery, but I can just toss it on the charger mid day and get the MagSafe if I’m gonna be away from a charging source for too long at a time.

no chance. Coming from a 16 PM. I can't tell the Air is in my pocket half the time! The speaker thing is completely overblown, IMO. Maybe it's just my use case, but i rarely am sitting there watching movies on a small screen. Not sure when else anyone would care about a speaker. It's not like people actually listen to music through their phone speakers. i notice no difference in text/email tones, youtube videos, or anything else you would use a small phone's speaker for.

The battery has been fine so far. No worse than my 16 PM. Get through a work day without issue.

.
Exactly! My phone speaker is mainly for when I’m on hold with customer service and I’m folding laundry or something. I don’t need stereo sound to listen to bumper music. Otherwise, I use my Airpods or play videos on my iPad Pro’s 4 FOUR SPEAKER SYSTEM or my Apple TV.

I’ve been saying in some other threads that the iPhone Air should not be approached with the mindset of monetary value. It is a side-step to the base iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. I personally love my iPhone Air and feel a lot of excitement using it, but I would not be surprised if it did not sell as well as the other models.

There’s so many videos trying to break down and justify the purchase and existence about this device, and I wonder if it’s because Apple threw this curveball by standardizing the core features people have wanted from iPhones with the 17 line. I think the iPhone Air should be approached with the confidence of what you want from a phone and what your usage habits are. That’s pretty much it. It is less value for money because the base 17 has more, but again, you cannot approach it with that or you will be disappointed.

I upgraded from the 14 PM to the 17 Air. Ergonomically it's amazing. I work from home so topping up the battery isn't that much of a problem. Also, I'm wasn't too concerned with the downgrade for the camera either. But, after using it for about a month (one of those weeks away on a work trip) it made me realize just how much more convenient having better battery life and a better camera are.

I wouldn't consider myself a power user but I have to stay actively aware of what percentage my battery is on throughout the day whereas with my PM it could easily last a few days if not used heavily and I don't have to think about it throughout the day. I also realized just how bad the camera was when I was taking pictures of receipts during my work trip and for picture to throw into chatgpt.

I like the concept of the Air for sure but I'm deciding to exchange it for a 17 pro since I'm nearing the end of my window to exchange. The cons I thought would be easy to live with actually became a bit annoying after a while .. at least for me.

I made the same switch that dre9277 two weeks ago and I’m still satisfied by my choice with Light Gold Air. The battery is good for my needs (yesterday I used 38% of battery), the only moments where I missed telephoto was last weekend at Pistoia Zoo: with telephoto I could have captured better pictures of lions, tiger and woolfs, for sure. But maybe I will enjoy more the moment with my son and my wife than looking for perfect pictures for social. Obviously is my opinion and my preferences about my new iPhone, I don’t want and I don’t will blame who choose the Pro instead the A, for any personal reasons.
