Looks like prices dropped in the refurbished section of the Apple store today, or maybe just added inventory. But a 2012 Mini for $509 is cheaper than the last time I looked.

I was wondering.

Considering only 3 days to go for the month (4 if you're on the other side of the world), and two of them are the weekend, I think it is a safe bet to say the new mini will not be introduced this month. Short of it all occuring on Monday.

I was wondering.

No one knows except Apple..... And there haven't been any rumors either.

Edit: And the mini is usually the last to get an update, and we haven't seen the Macbook Pros updated yet. The only time I can remember that this wasn't true was last year, but even then the new iMacs were announced on the same day the new Mini's were made available.

There was speculation of new iMacs being announced at the October (rumored) iPad event, but then those were dropped this week with nothing other than a press release.

Since they didn't release new Mac Mini models at the same time, maybe they're saving that for an announcement, which means something more significant than just a spec bump. Like a total redesign!

Or..... not.

You mean something like MacMini Pro? That would be interesting... :apple:

Maybe just a round mac mini (like the pro) but much shorter. Like a tabletop ash tray.

Probably won't happen. You know what the world needs? A dodecahedron shaped computer.

I agree... Probably won't happen, but then again who knows... That's Apple for you... Sometimes you expect a lot and nothing happens... Sometimes you expect nothing and get a surprise...:)

They need time to build enough Mac Mini units before formal announcement (I bet around late Oct.2013). Technology is here. Components (graphics, pci-e ssd, ram etc) are available and ready....production line (in China...and in the States?) must reach a unit limit and then, APPLE will "silently & formally" update Mac Mini, too....same story...

Hoping for a Tuesday 10am announcement...

Edit: never mind. Looks like their press releases come out at 5:55am PDT. Shucks.

Pure speculations, no source specified etc. - they may even use this forum as source.

However noticing a lack of pictures emerging we may make some speculations:

- Perhaps same enclosure and only logic board changes so the assemblers don't have anything to brag about
- Perhaps same enclosure as the Airport or Time Capsule and once again no-one wanting to brag about this
- Perhaps not on its way yet (unlikely)
- Perhaps assembled in the US with new employees more adhering to company standards of non disclosure
- Perhaps fully automated assembly

Time will show us which on it is, I prefer to "live in the now" and not in yesterday or tomorrow.

If released this year, it only makes sense to group it with the pro. So either released along with the pro and pad or the two of them with there own event. The question is, does apple feel like doing one event or two?
