Well I foolishly moved my M1 Mac Studio one shelf down, just below desk level and AirPods Max are basically worthless, constant dropouts. The unit is maybe 30 cm away. So far mouse seems OK though.

Edit: seems like a Bluetooth interference issue, not sure why moving it compounded the issue though. Turning off some Bluetooth devices that are unused seemed to help.

I've had the Studio for about 6 months now, and no drop-outs at all.
The only issue I have is Universal Control between it and my old iMac which keeps dropping one of the computers for a bit, quite frequently.
I think that might be because I'm using Logitech MX keyboard and mouse, which can be assigned to different devices. I have turned Flow off, but doesn't seem to help.

So 14.5 improved things? I never updated to that due to some problems with audio software/compatibility. Still 14.3.1 here. 14.4.1 was a nightmare so stuck here.

I ended up sending the Satechi keyboard back. After a week or so, the issues returned worse than ever, even with no USB3 hub.

Next time I want to try bluetooth (which will be soon due to being a recording studio with a large console that I can't have cables across) I'll just get an official Apple keyboard. I never used the backlights one the Satechi anyway.

I still use my old school Apple trackpad (with AA batteries) with my left hand for swiping gestures (wired Kensington trackball is main device) and is generally is OK. Typing is much 'instant' though and latency is much more noticeable.
As an update, I bought an official Magic Keyboard, and no issues... no lag and no disconnections with either the Magic Keyboard for my mk1 trackpad with the AA batteries.

So I would probably blame the crappy 3rd party keyboard in my case. Learned my lesson...
