My new magic mouse is using up a rechargeables after only a few days.
Wonder if that's normal. Not turning the switch off when I put my MB to sleep.

They are rather old batteries though.

I have the same problem.

I have the same keyboard, but I bought it separately and I use it with a 2006 iMac and 10.5, so I don't think the problem has anything to do with particular computer models or what version of OS X you are using. The problem did start right around the time I bough a Magic Mouse, so I don't doubt that this is somehow the culprit. I suspect the Magic Mouse is somehow preventing the keyboard from "sleeping" when it's not in use. I suspect this because when I was gone on a trip and did not use the computer at all (it was sleeping) I came back to find that the keyboard batteries were entirely depleted.

My wireless key board battery was still reading 100%. when I had to take the i7 into the shop. I did notice that the cap key light wasn't coming on sometimes though. The magic mouse battery seemed to be going down fairly fast though.

I have the wired numeric keyboard for the i7 and when I get it back I may start using it, as I'm used to using one on my old computer.

One of the many things I liked about the new mouse was the scrolling and the two finger flick.

Yes, I miss the center button on the old mouse to bring up Dash board.:(
