With such a flood of iPhone 11/Pro threads, I’m curious how many of you are still out there, like me, rocking the SE.

I’m basically on an SE until it no longer physically functions, barring the release of some type of iPhone 11/XR Mini (hopefully) some day.

The whole lineup is big, bigger and huge now and it’s so frustrating.

I know anecdotally in my social circles, I’m not alone in wanting something a bit smaller than the current normal Pro/XS size. I really wish Apple wouldn’t leave us all in the cold. It’s shocking to see all the size variety in the iPad lineup vs what they offer for phones, especially given that the phone is the device that goes in pockets, pouches, etc and has so much variety in usage patterns, styles, desires, needs, etc.

I used one for 3 years! They’re just too small.. Very difficult to type, tiny display, and mediocre performance nowadays.

after getting rid of my SE last month, I had a hard time finding a new iPhone that “I JUST LOVED”, so I purchased a new 6S+, not happy..then I bought a new iPhone 7 128gb in matte black, then I bought a new 8 Plus 256gb, then I bought a iPhone 11 Pro Max 256gb..

I am finally happy with my iPhone 11 Pro Max!!!

I returned the 6S Plus, returned the 8 Plus also.

I could never go back to a SE. iPhone 7 or 8 Is the Best small iPhone.

I think it's foolish to dismiss an iPhone the size of the 8 but all screen

Why?
I don't like the physical size of the 8 right now, irrespective of screen size.

The actual device size is far far more important to me, and I suspect to many SE evangelists.

Really hoping this is accurate:

OK- that size could work...
As long as it's smaller (at least a little bit) in both dimensions vs the iP8, I'm in.

I can't get the iPhone XS to even update to 13. I'm getting ready to chuck this thing and go back to my SE. Never had any major issues with it.

My Mum has an SE, my Dad has a 5C & my in-laws both have a 5S - people manage. They're all retired, and all use them for texts & WhatsApp, with the occasional photo & phone call - everything else is via iPad or computer.

I still have my daughters previous 5C, and much as I like it, newer larger phones are just so much more convenient for all the work tasks I do on the move without having to stop & boot-up a notebook (email, internet banking, topping-up Oyster card, booking trains & hotels and expenses etc on Concur, Trainline tickets in Wallet, adding or amending Calendar invites) as well as Maps & the camera.

I'd love to use my phone less, and to be less reliant on it, but I'm resigned to it and have now gone large with a Max. If they ever do another smaller than the 11 Pro / X (with a kick-ass camera) then I'd have a real good look at it.

You’re definitely not alone. My wife will hold on to her beloved SE until it dies. Fortunately after over 3 years of use it’s still going strong and performs brilliantly on iOS 12. Haven’t dared to jump to 13 yet. I don’t expect Apple to make another device this size but I hope I’m wrong.
Downloaded ios 13 on my old se that my husband uses. I do not see many changes anyway with ios 13 just minor tweaks and such. It works great.

I love mine. Whenever they stop giving it security updates, I'll buy the smallest Android phone I can, assuming they don't have a similarly sized new iPhone available.

SE evangelists. LOL.

Look mate, it ain't happening. Don't know what I can tell you beyond that. You either accept what Apple will offer in their smallest iPhone next fall, or you don't. Most people seeking a smaller iPhone will be perfectly happy with the 5.4" model. Notice I said most and not all. I also think we need to wait and see exactly how big it will or will not be before we can truly debate whether it will satisfy current SE users or not.

Look mate, it ain't happening.

The 5.4" is apparently going to be sub iP8 size - that would work for me and I suspect many who love the SE.

I didn't realize it would be smaller than iP8 footprint. Some rumors pegged it as basically an iPhone 8 with refreshed internals. That is not of interest whatsoever.

Loved the SE and 5s before I got the 7 plus. The plus sized iphone caused me to give up my OG ipad pro as I started to use it for everything. But having a jumbo rectangle in your pocket gets boring quickly.

After giving up all hope of being able to use an OLED iphone I'd actually consider getting an SE and ipad mini combo if there was still new UK stock of the 128gb model. The SE is the perfect pocket size device and I could tether the ipad mini when needed (I'd leave it in the car or the office desk).

As Apple are still selling the 8 series they will have alot of parts to use so any hope of all screen SE replacement is fleeting. Their not going to make a cheaper and better option than the iphone 8 they still sell.

I purchased an SE in February to replace a 6S+ - I greatly prefer the small size of SE.

That said, I'm very tempted to buy an iPhone 11 Pro solely for the better camera than SE.
I also replaced my 6s plus early this year, was lucky to find a 128gb. Replaced the battery and updated to iOS 13 recently. I'll use the SE until it either breaks or I lose it. Best iPhone I've ever owned, the new ones are just too big. With the SE, apple watch4 and iPad really don't have a need but you're right the camera update would be nice. Not so sure it's worth the price though.

I don't think anyone knows for sure. Certainly something between an SE and 8 would be more appealing to most SE owners. But it won't be as small as an SE.

I just bought the 11 Pro and felt that it was too big. So I returned it today and I'm back on my iPhone 8.

However, even the 8 seems a little too big for me. The SE is such an underrated phone. I am thinking about selling my 8 and going back to the SE. However, I would only want a brand new SE and I can't really find them new anymore.

I looked on eBay for several days, but they're all refurbs. Even the ones that say "NEW" are not new by any stretch. All of iPhones SE's on eBay sold as new are actually refurbs that have been resealed.

I wonder if anyone knows a place where I can pick up a brand new factory sealed and unlocked SE. If so, please let me know. Thanks.

In the same story that carries the rumor of the 5.4" iPhone, it's called a "flagship." If that's the case, then the 5.4" phone won't be the low cost SE replacement rumored to come in Spring of 2020, and it is THAT iPhone which I believe will retain a home button and bezels, IMHO. So, we may be talking about 2 completely different iPhones. But as someone who would LOVE a small flagship phone, and can afford to pay anything for one, I hope they do come out with a 5.4" flagship iPhone that's smaller than the 6/7/8. Same size, not interested.

It's not, unfortunately.

If you do the math with the assumption the 5.4" has the same bezels as iPhone X:

iPhone 5.4"
W = 2.61"
H = 5.24"

iPhone 6
W = 2.64"
H = 5.44"

It's effectively an iPhone 6/7/8 form factor device.

...and that is what those pictures show. The 5.4 being slightly sma

That’s another phone entirely. There is a rumor of a new SE in the spring which is supposedly going to basically be an updated iPhone 8. The 5.4 will be a flagship.

The SE rumor is from one source, which doesn’t have much rep.

It's about 1% narrower and 4% shorter than iPhone 8.

The original image depicted the 5.4" as being nearly 10% smaller in both dimensions than iPhone 8.

I've been running IOS 13.1 betas on my SE. No Problems! My main is iPhone X. I also have an iPhone 8. Both are also running IOS 13.1 betas.

I think it's foolish to dismiss an iPhone the size of the 8 but all screen. Also, there is a chance the 5.4" iPhone falls between the size of the SE and 8.

Regardless, the days of the SE footprint are over. I realize many still want that, but I think it's a niche audience at this point. Just because you don't type on your SE doesn't mean countless others don't. A narrow screen makes for very small keyboard keys. Really not ideal for anyone, even people who want a super small phone to use one-handed and barely feel in their front pocket. I'm confident the 5.4" iPhone will satisfy most people clamoring for a smaller iPhone.

Hmm. All screen with Touch ID in the screen. Maybe no FaceID to keep down costs? Not a bad idea if they want to make this their new budget device.

It will be somewhere in the range of between 8 and SE size to 8 sized.

Still using an SE, but if Apple came out with the same sized device with edge-to-edge screen and updated internals and camera, I'd be all over it.
They won’t. The 5.4” iPhone will be larger than the SE.

Basically a touch smaller than the 8.
