I love the MB, but as soon as I saw the MBA I knew I wanted one. Many people I know have the MB, almost all in black and I have to say I was leaning towards buying one. The only gripes I had with the MB was that I still kinda found it a bit heavy at 5 pounds for carrying it around me all day with all my books (med student), it does get a bit too warm sometimes and they tend to have a problem with cracking cases over time.
I know those buying a MBA are paying a premium and it falls short of the MB in terms of performance, but for those of us that are not looking for performance, but convenience it does make sense. So I dug deeper into my pockets and bought the 1.6 Ghz version, as it is really all I need in a laptop. I use my 24" white iMac as my primary computer and just wanted something real portable and light as all I mainly do is web surf and school stuff on my laptop, which doesn't require much in the way of power. For those of you who plan on using a laptop as a primary computer (or for gaming), I suggest looking at the 15" MBP as a much better choice, as it is a more complete computer for only a couple hundred bucks more.
