I just picked up my baby and obviously the ‘genius’ forgot to include the Apple Pencil to my AppleCare+ (I decided to get it while picking up my iPP, keyboard, pencil). Now I’ll have to deal with it in the morning.

Do accessories get specifically added to AppleCare+? I thought they were just included by default if you had a compatible device under coverage.

My 1st 11" iPad Pro had a very squishy right corner on the power button. You had to press it in the middle to make it work. If you press the right side of the button, it didn't react, was squishy and didn't click. The 2nd one was perfect :)

Put this is another thread too, but almost every non-apple app has a black border around the app on the 12.9”. Have a gen 2 12.9” next to it and then gen 2 is fine.

The updates will come, sooner rather than later I'd guess as it's an easy fix. It's because apps haven't been updated to accommodate the home bar at the bottom of the screen. So the iPad shrinks the app down slightly so that interface elements won't get in the way of it, even if there are no interface elements there.

My 12.9 crackles a little in the buttom right corner when holding it (just a little though).

I know it’s a huge piece of unit, but my old 12.9 didn’t crackle at all.

Haven’t decided yet if I should ask for a replacement (mostly because I was lucky and got a screen that’s perfect for me and I don’t want to risk getting a replacement that is not as nice).

I gotta say this new cover (not the keyboard) is amazing. Magnets align perfectly and are incredibly strong so it never feels like the device is going to sip out but at the same time is very easy to remove. Same thing with the pencil. So slick how it snaps into place and it never feels like it’s going to fall off. Probably two of the best Apple accessories I’ve owned (I don’t own AirPods).

The magnetic charging for the Apple Pencil is wonky AF. It has to be at a sweet spot for the pencil to actually charge. Kind of a pain in the ass. At least it’s still better than plugging into the lightning port.

Not mine but I was in the apple store looking at them when someone came in with a non responsive 11” ipad. It was in a split screen mode with two apps displayed and it would not even reboot. Two employees could not get it to reboot. I left as they where calling a third.

Likely a hardware issue. It happens.

How do you reboot the new iPads?

How are you going to get a new SIM card since this is embedded? Just asking because I’m running into the same difficulty

Went to the AT&T store this morning and had a SIM card put in. The tray in the new iPad was empty. Quick fix and working fine now.

My new 12.9 did this today. Reboot: quick tap volume up, quick tap volume down, then hold WAKE/SLEEP button. Nothing else worked, holding the button with volume, etc. only the above rebooted it and I was fine after that.

This button sequence does work. But is there a true reboot that doesn't involve a shutdown and turn back on? Sort of like how Windows or macOS restarts without shutting down?

I’m enjoying this a lot more than I was expecting. The new pencil is great and so much more convenient. The original pencil was totally useless.

The usefulness of the pencil is well documented on this board. Corresponding thread with paintings has more than a thousand posts.

Additionally, you bought this while expecting to not enjoy the device much?

Mine didn’t show either so I called Apple and they said my Apple Pencil was covered

ok! So they told me the same thing the first time I called them but I felt like something wasn't right because people here posted that the actual ApplePencil's serial number should mention AppleCare+.
So I called back and told them that AC+ doesn't show on my Pencil coverage and they immediately added it. So I suggest you call them again and make sure they add it on your coverage. Probably your Pencil will survive for the next 24months but why not have the insurance on something you already paid/are paying for.

When a new product gets released i do a lot of visiting all the stores that have them on display, and see what they look like and how they are working.

I also read the forums where people who already have bought them are reporting, and see what they have found i am not looking for a reduced in price sale so waiting six to eight months is no problem.

I just bought a 2017 10.5 iPadPro and plan on getting the new 2018 11 inch to have in another room that my old iPad4 is now in.

Yes! I posted about this in another thread - I thought there was something wrong with my iPad's magnet. There is a "sweet" spot you need to it haha If you put it to the side, it doesn't charge and the magnet grip is not as strong.

OK, thanks for the heads up. Did they tell you how many days you had with the apple care plus? They did with me. But the rep on the other end with very quick with me and didn’t seem interested. Will check again.
