Me? I don't do back packs - I prefer my Jag bag instead:

Good amount of padding protection for the laptop; and I can fit all my university books in there as well - oh and very comfortable when the bag is heavy.

WARNING: Sleeves that are Red, Black, and most other colors, stain the white macbooks! I have read alot about this, and I know sometimes the stains won't come off.

If you are getting a colored sleeve for your white macbook, the best way to make sure it won't stain your macbook is to wash it out well and let it dry before use.

freitag.ch has a macsleeve (online store>successories). Neoprene, waterproof, form-fitting, stylish and unique (each one is made from recycled truck tarps). Some are beat up some are clean, all lived on the side of a truck for years, all are cool. Very popular in Switzerland.

I don't have a Macbook - and don't usually carry a laptop with me. (my dell stinks)

BUT - I DO have a North Face "Surge" bag - it's got a nice padded / semi-waterproofed section made just for a laptop, about the size of a 17" Macbook Pro -- I think it's trying to tell me something.

It's a very nice and comfortable bag - in spite of me being a Big guy. (which, makes many backpacks uncomfortable)

Also has a padded easy access pocket for your cell and MP3 (in my case iPhone) with a Cut Out slot for your headphones, and a clip for them on the straps. Cool idea, IMO.

My only issue with it - is it almost has too MANY pockets and dividers - I sometimes have to search out my keys... If I just used the same one habitually - this would be a non issue.

Man, I DIG that snot-green color. Where the hell was that when I bought my black one?

She's a tad pricy considering it's a day pack - but its built like a brick @($*house.

nope, not a problem

I have a couple of questions I'd like to ask you about the ZeroShock III.

- Has it got some sort of protection in order to protect the MB from the zipper?
- Are you using it with a MB? Has it left any sort of mark/stain? It seems there are some cases of Incases's Sleeve staining MBs. Is that the case with the ZS III?

Thanks in advance

I haven't had any problems with staining, but i have a blackbook and the interior of the case is black. It's just a black fabric though, which covers the memory foam on th inside (the outside is some synthetic material), so I don't feel like it would bleed ink. I have seen some unsightly light blue stains on a powerbook from a friend's incase sleeve. As far as the zipper, the perimeter of the case is lined on the inside with a semi-rigid piping, which is covered in cloth. It's pretty thick, and the zipper closes around that, so even if i open the case enough to just barely slide out the computer, it never touches the zipper. The whole case seems well thought out, and the build quality is great. It's hard to believe that it's actually cheaper than the incase sleeves, since it's not ugly or anything.

good luck

I must admit I really like to looks of that backpack. And it probably has a bigger laptop compartment (since it's meant for 17'' notebooks), so I'm probably better off with it since I intend to use the backpack while having the MB inside a sleeve. Thanks for the suggestion!

You know what, I've been hearing a lot of complaints about how the Incase leaves stains on white MBs. I think I might settle for the ZeroShock III (even though mine is a BlackBook :D)
