Most who play Blu-rays on Windows use Power DVD. On Macs, Plex and XBMC are best, but VLC can handle them if you have a beefy-enough computer. Of course, you still need to decrypt/de-HDCP with Make MKV for disc playback, or just rip the disc for playback/transcoding.

I don't know - I've only done Blu-ray playback once under Boot Camp and it played fine on my MacBook Pro and when I connected my MBP to my Samsung 720p TV.
