I have a box of records stashed away. One of these days I need to get a new turn table.

As people post, I'd be interested in hearing suggestions for a nice record player without breaking the bank.

Back on topic, I've bought the Queen box set that came out last year since it came with several albums on vinyl again.

My favorite record? Styx's Paradise Theater because it's laser etched. You can see the band logo written into the record, but it doesn't affect playback at all. I also have the Grand Illusion with the original poster in it.

My first record was K-Tel's Hit Explosion with all kinds of bad 80's music. Eye of the Tiger, Abracadabra, Shadows of the Night, etc.

I don't have any right now but I'm a fan of the medium, and I'm being left all my parents records when they kick the bucket. So that's a collection of Beatles, MJ, New Order... Music to my childhood really.

Sounds like a pretty diverse group around here. I collect a lot of punk, indie, folk, blues, rock, soul/motown, etc. I've got a pretty big collection. I need to take more pictures, hopefully I can get around to it soon and post 'em up here.

Personally gave my vinyl away when I converted to CD.

A fellow I used to know years ago, had well over 1,000 records. Awesome collection. He had them stored beautifully. Always handled with white gloves.

I wonder if he still has his collection?

RTL is on 180g. I will buy AJA but quite frankly that **** needs to be redone. 180g or not it doesn't matter as the base is seriously lacking, even on the CD. It's just the way they laid the tracks and Ulrich had some massive ego hand in all that, which I think screwed it up. Like I said, I'll buy it, but don't expect amazing sound even on an 180g pressing.

To me it is worth owning ...
Metallica/Metallica
Ride the Lightning
... And Justice for all
Master of Puppets
Kill "em All

I would love to get Garage Days ... omg. Load and Reload, St. Anger and Death Magnetic ... nah. They're just futile attempts to try and regain what was lost when Ulrich became a real dick.

I have about 20 records give or take at this time, the turntable is a Sony PSLX250H. Probably my most notable is Abbey Road which I actually currently have on the turntable. Thinking of cracking out the Devo and Talking Heads tomorrow.

I need to get back down to Waterloo in Austin to see what else they have.

I will post some photos of my collection when I get around to it.

My setup/records

My New Stuff
stuff i have gotten within the last year, or i got new semi recently.:p

Blood Bank E.P.-Bon Iver.
3674209610_067862c216.jpg

This is my Newest addition. I really have gotten into this one. just beautiful, genius songs, mostly written in isolation in a cabin in the middle of no ware.

The Hazards of Love-The Decemberists.
3674214762_10b0b16e83.jpg

Local Band to me, The Decemberists's new album is not quite what people might expect, but far more genius. In short, it is an Epic Fairy Tail. The Digital version is 58min of non stop sound, so i wasn't sure how it would be on vinyl, but the beautiful sounds of the Vinyl version overcome the lack of constant sound. I got one of 500 posters with the copy.

Dark Side of The Moon-Pink Floyd
3674209852_0d960f1938.jpg

Ah yes, for me, I associate DSOTM with vinyl. Maybe it was listening to it on a $5,000 set up made me a believer in Vinyl. But it is an awesome package. So much stuff packed in, the thing dosn't stay "flat".
many stickers and posters come with this Dutch Import, much like the original, as explained in the next pic.

Abbey Road-The Beatles.
3673400757_55b758f39d.jpg

Ah yes...This one will always have a special place in my heart. Why? its the Beatles. Enough Said.;).

Viva la Vida or DAAHF-Coldplay.
3674211356_76dbb59767.jpg

There is just something about this album, that when played on vinyl, i feel better.

A Rush of Blood to the Head-Coldplay.
3673406061_43cf9c64ba.jpg

This is Classic Coldplay. Makes me feel cold and kinda lost in a dream. But Awesome Album. cant get enough of "the Scientist".

Narrow Stairs-Death Cab For Cutie
3673401265_4da1867fab.jpg

This album is growing on me. the other day i had this cranked up and it was awesome. Also pretty sweet cause it was recorded onto ATR Magnetics.Full Analog Juiciness all the way. ;)

Plans-Death Cab For Cutie.
3673401561_7927abb92b.jpg

Even tho this was only recorded on Radar 24, it still sounds pretty good on vinyl. Its been played to death in the year I have had it. The album is so depressing. Reminds me of summer. It is a 2 Disk Set. with the album on Sides A, B, and C, while a Bonus Track is on Side D with the only song on it. When i look at it, for some reason it cracks me up.
3673401833_ba422776cb.jpg

The Black Keys-Attack and Release.
3673402345_ff6667b646.jpg

Kinda a cool bluesy rock album. Like Jack white but like 10x better.

In Rainbows-Radiohead.
If you can appreciate Music on many levels, you will love this.
3673402601_9874a92958.jpg

Some really awesome songs on there. not just House of cards.

This thread is encouraging me to finally get my turntable hooked up..I believe it needs a new needle though. I have maybe 300 or so albums. I keep meaning to bring them out of the closet and at least display them in some way/stacked somewhere. Everything from Metallica>Jim Croce>REM>Pink Floyd>Madonna>Beatles apple label LPs>Zeppelin>GnR>Crue>Jackson 5... just too much..yeah i need to bust em out.

You are so write on AJA. They mixed Newsted out of the entire album for a reason, they essentially hated him. Great bass player, though. And he fit in the band better than Trujilo does.

Would love to have all the old albums on vinyl, all the good ones that is, haha.
