This site documents how you used to be able to create a Dashboard widget that was a live website snippet, so you could have a live monitor of a website on your Dashboard https://www.compsmag.com/how-to/create-dashboard-widget-to-webpage-mac/

With Sonoma bringing desktop widgets back, I was wondering if there are any modern ways/apps of adding a widget (even if Sonoma is not out yet) that lets you do the same thing? I've not been able to find any so far.

macOS Sonoma includes a feature similar to the @kryten2 referenced:

However, it’s not quite the same as a widget.

P.S. I still miss the Mac OS X Dashboard. The current widget system is fine for iOS/iPadOS but, in my opinion, it’s greatly inferior to Dashboard on a Mac.
