It's possible you just need to adapt your typing style. You can get used to typing 'lightly' pretty quickly, when you realise the switches don't need much force to actuate. It's not like a mechanical keyboard which requires a lot more force to actuate. Just try 'brushing' the keys, instead of bashing.

Good luck with your venture.

No it doesn't. If anything, it gets louder and hurts your fingers after about 20 minutes. My wife's had her's for about a week and it's just as loud as the day she bought it, if not louder. It's a crappy keyboard in my opinion, and I write for a living. Most of my peers agree, but we're a unique bunch of idiots...we all write for coin and ramen noodles.

I have tried them at the Apple Store here and there, and they always seem to be the same loudness. I would say it's more people get used to the noise, or indeed type more softly, than the keyboard actually decreasing in loudness. That keyboard is something I would not be able to get used to. When I need a laptop, it'll be a 2015 model on a nice discount or maybe the Surface Book 2.

Macbook Pro still makes huge noise - can't use it in lectures. I have tried changing my technique but the only way to do it is to type at such a slow speed that it is pointless - any tips welcome...

Must admit I find the keyboard challenging too even after several months' "practice".

Just "brushing" the keys lightly doesn't let them register consistently for me, so I type much slower and with far less confidence than in the past. The keyboard actively slows me down and hurts my fingers after a short period while trying to type.

Conversely, the new Magic Keyboard is one of the best and most comfortable I've ever used.

What's the Magic Keyboard?

Can anybody post a video of how the keyboard is loud? I would expect it to make some noise when in use as it's a button being pressed, but it's not loud enough for me to complain or even notice as being an unusually loud device.

I find it really quiet for a keyboard, it's more mechanical so there is a definite strike as opposed to a mushy connection. But typing on this seems very quiet to me, so I don't know if it's how I'm typing or if some people have issues with their keyboards. Some people do just type loudly though, have you ever wondered through HR in your office?

Mine's as quiet as I want it to be, entirely a matter of how hard I type.

This is not accurate on mine. The real problem is in meetings and lectures and other events when others are disturbed. This keyboard is much louder than the prior version 17” MBP I had. Unacceptably loud and Apple needs to fix this. Some damping mechanism at bottom of keyboard travel is essential.

As the heading says, is there any way to reduce sound from keyboard o new MacBook Pro? I just got mine, and I am driving everyone in the same room as me crazy because of the clicking sound...
[doublepost=1529752295][/doublepost]Mine hasn't quieted down after 2 months of using it daily.
I HATE IT.The computer itself is great - but the keyboard noise is terrible.
I regret buying it because of the noise.
