without glasses and you can turn it off ?

this will be really good

Not yet, just patents, as the OS is not at that point.
And isn't 3D just a fad and for media consumption? What is the advantage of 3D when navigating the Menu Bar or windows or a dialog?

Maybe these can steer you in the right direction: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ap...=&oq=apple+patents+&pbx=1&fp=d6574125398a80fd

well don't you think watching 3d movies on imac will be great ??

sorry i am lazy to search but does that 'patents' an add on ? (like buying it then install it in the imac?)

when does it release ?

when do you think apple make 3d imacs ? 2-3 years from now ?

Impossible.

lol,why ?

some laptops already have 3d and the 3DS too.

I don't think Apple patents add-ons, the Magic Trackpad is an exception though. They want you to buy a new product, thus they can also guarantee it is working.
But how exactly would one add-on a 3D display?

when does it release ?

spacing issues

Hopefully not soon. Or it should be at least BTO.

Links? And what is "3DS"?

i have another questions.

are the imacs weight on the apple online store include the entire box of the imac ?

it says 20.5 pounds (9.3 kg)2 for the 21.5 imac, does it include the mouse and keyboard ?

i ask this because i may tell someone abroad to buy it for me and then ship it to me ??

also are the imac price the same when they release it the first time ? (jun 2010)

I haven't seen any monitors in mass production that don't need glasses. Maybe after few years but not anytime soon. You will also need Blu-Ray to get the highest quality content and currently Apple doesn't really like it.

LOL at this. Hahaha, Apple won't even release blu-ray for macs for some strange reason they like there "super drives" (pathetic imo), why would they ever do 3D?

what is that 'strange reason' ? just wondering.

so free glass 3d screen work on smaller screen and it's hard for big screen, and you have to place in a specific place.

and 3d screen with glasses is for big screen so you can place anywhere.

is that right ?

they both have the same 3d effects right ?

I highly doubt it. I'm surprised that 3D has really taken off at all. It's expensive, you have to have those stupid glasses, and while it's pretty cool, it's more just a gimmick. I enjoy movies just as much in 2D as 3D, but moreover, it's just not practical for a computer, unless apple goes full media-center for the iMac line. I just don't see that happening.

Sales tax may be added on top of the price listed on Apple's site but that depends on the state. Some resellers don't charge the sales tax though.

what about Miami ? my cousin is there.

how to calculate the tax ? on apple site it says 2199$

its a simple blue ray would cost money for apple and drm is needed and drm leaves a big security hole even if microsoft says it doesn't , but microsoft said they had secure operating system with windows Me and vista too.. i certainly dont like the idea of everybody who likes to see what i play on my iMac or any Mac for that matter so every company knows my personal details from address up to my credit card details if i play a blue ray disc , because the disc and player have to phone home to make sure its legally obtained
drm no thank you http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_rights_management

and why would i want to watch 3d movies on the iMac , i'd buy a tv for that if i would find a reason for sitting in the living room with silly colored glasses and the majority does not buy iMac's to replace their telly , there are still a couple who really work on their Mac's , and a 3d display would be really useful for office dokuments and photoediting:rolleyes:
