I don't always leave my iTunes running, but I haven't had to touch Home Sharing in months.

Whenever I fire up iTunes, it just auto-negotiates in the background and I get the active link to whatever's in my iTunes library on my pc...like it should.

It sucks that it's not working for you.

Just curious what you are running.

-I'm running a 27" iMac Core 2 Duo

-Apple Extreme Router with everything AppleTV at 5Ghz except the iMac which is connected via Cat5 to the router

-latest iTunes

-Everything is updated, no jailbreaks, etc.

I wondering if it is an Airport Extreme issue more than a AppleTv issue

In my setup, sadly the only Apple piece is the Apple TV.

4 year old Dell Dimension POS running XP, connected to the router via Cat 5.

Brand new Netgear Dual Band N router.

latest iTunes
latest iOS update for the AppleTV
No jailbreaks here either
