Does anyone know of a case that has the same look and feel as the Durafolio's material? It's a type of grippy rubber. I saw this case yesterday for the first and I fell in love with it. It's very disappointing that I can't buy it due to the defects mentioned.

Although I complained of the unevenness around the power button on my iPad mini retina, I don't regret buying this case. It has held up well and I love the material and look.

I agree with you. The look and feel are probably the best I've come across. OCD has it's ups & downs. This is definitely a down. I haven't given up though. I will inspect everyone (which won't be many) of these cases I come across, and hope I find the diamond in the rough.

If the shop allows you to remove the cover from the box you can inspect the gap on the frame. To my mind the bigger issue is testing your case with your iPad to verify that the magnets work properly. The OP mentioned that her iPad turned on and off just sitting next to her on the sofa. Mine definitely doesn't do that and I suspect that it's the sort of defect that can occur during assembly. I assume the gap around the volume buttons is built into the molds used to make the framework.
