Huh? If you knew gestures are the same on all iPads, then why did you say you would struggle going back to “no touch gestures...wanted to keep the usage I have now.”?

Because the gestures still won’t be as smooth as they are on current iPhones and current iPad pros. I’m used to Face ID and it’s something I would rather stick with going forward than going back in time with old designs and thicker bezels

You changed from “no touch gestures” to “less smooth gestures”, which is also completely false. I don’t know where you’re getting your info. Gestures on the mini 5 are just as smooth as on the pros.
That’s fine if you prefer Face ID/thin bezels, but don’t give people wrong information.

Only going on what people have said on here...can’t fully comment on mini 5 as I don’t have one...only what’s been said.

I can see the appeal with mini 5 as it’s the best for portability and I considered it but price wise was worth paying the little extra for the pro 11 inch

I cannot recall a single owner of an iPad mini 5 making comments that the multitouch gestures would be less smooth on that device.

You’re now trying to blame others for your lack of verified knowledge when people point you to your wrong statements.

Now you’re moving the goalposts to pricing.

I *had* both, started with the 12.9 and bought the 11. Really prefer the 11, it truly is the sweet spot for my use case. I do travel a bit and it has been perfect, a Mini is a bit too small, the 12.9 was a bit too big.

The 11" fits perfectly in my travel bag. Gave my 12.9 to my niece for her birthday,

Moving the goalposts? I would have got the mini 5 if the price was that much cheaper than the 11 inch pro but it was the difference of 4-5 quid. So for that would be foolish for me to get the mini 5 over the 11 inch pro.

If you can’t recall such statements then that’s up to you but i have seen statements saying it is not the same but if it is then great but my point still remains going back in time to old design and massive bezels is not something i want to do when i have all devices that have thin bezels and just Face ID.....Not sure why you are even going back and forth on this. Just let it go and let this topic run with what it was meant to be for...
