I'm able to change prl and roam on Verizon. Lte roaming does not and will not work since sprint and Verizon do not have an agreement to allow lte roaming. Now here's the deal, Before getting it to work I tried a couple of times with a Verizon .000001 I had saved in my computer and it just wouldn't work. The only way I could get it to work was by watching a video that was posted in the iphone-developers forum and downloading the prl from the link in the video. The steps to load the prl are the same as before, the only difference is that in the iPhone 5 the folder where you overwrite the prl is now called sprint_lte_us.bundle. Just make sure your data roaming is on and that you have tetherme installed. The link to the video with the file is

Btw I'm not sure if this happens to anybody else but while roaming I'm not able to send SMS. iMessage works beautifully but regular texts do not. The same used to happen when I had the 4s.

Thanks man i am actually now roaming off Verizon 3G just follow the directions on the video and it will work I'm getting over 2MBS now i still think there's a way to do the 4G but i'm happy for now thank you!

OMG, thanks!! that worked for me too! I went from 0.1mbps on sprint to 2.34mbps on Verizon, sweet!

I'm glad it worked. Can you guys try and send an text message and see if it works? I can't seem to send regular texts when I'm roaming. iMessage works fine but not texts.

Everything works fine for me data wise and text messaging work great to don't know about your situation,do you have any tweaks on Cydia that are not compatible with ios6?

If you roam excessively and continuously they can suspend your account. There's lte where I live so I only use it in those places where lte is not available yet. When I had the 4s I roamed on verizon up to 2gb and never heard from sprint. I would say that if you roam less than that you should be ok. Besides sprint sends a warning before they suspend you so if you get a warning just stop roaming and that will be the end of it.

So if I where to change my prl file, I have the option to roam on verzion when I want to and switch back to sprint when I choose?

Yeah you can switch back and forth. The only inconvenience is that you have to restart the phone every time you go from sprint to Verizon. To go from Verizon to sprint all you need to do is dial ##873283#

I'm trying to install the custom prl file now. Under the instructions it says goto

System/Library/Carrier Bundles/iPhone/Sprint_US.bundle

When I used ifile the only folders I can find under that directory is

Sprint_LTE_US.bundle and Sprint_Virgin_US.bindle

Both have carrier.prl file in it. I don't have the Sprint_US.bundle folder. Help?

Read my previous comment where I posted the link to the video. In the iphone 5 the prl goes in the the lte bundle folder. Also make sure you have tetherme installed and your data roaming is on. Otherwise it will not work.

Thanks for your help! I wonder if there any other prls for Verizon? You know anything about that? Such as LTE I'm sure it's possible some way.

I'm not gonna say its impossible but the way I understand it is that a prl is just a file that tells your phone what towers to connect to if there is no sprint couverture. Simply put prl .00001 is just a sprint prl modified to force your phone to roam on Verizon all the time. Right now sprint and Verizon do not have an agreement to allow lte roaming therefore as long as there is no such agreement your phone will not roam on Verizon lte. You can modify anything you want on your phone but every connection must go through sprint (that's how they know how much you roam). If lte roaming is not allowed on sprint's end then your phone will not be allowed to roam on Verizon's lte.

----------

Besides roaming on lte is not as feasible as roaming on 3G is. I use more than twice as much data as I used when I had only 3G. No way sprint would allow that much roaming and would end up giving you the boot after two months of lte roaming.

I have LTE in my area. My question is when you are on the verizon PRL doesn't it pick up the Sprint LTE signal? When I had my Galaxy S2 I would enable the Wimax 4g and picked up the Sprint 4g signal. Wouldn't this be the same if I have the LTE enabled and it switches from Verizon 3G to Sprint LTE?

My main purpose is using this in spots where my LTE coverage is spotty.

Could I take the bundle from 6.0 and use it on 6.1 that's the only reason I want to do this. On 6.1 I can't roam at all, but 6.0 I could.

so..i updated my iphone to 6.1.2 and i cant seem to get this to work..will continue trying.

So whats everyones fastest PRL? I have the 5 running 6.1 and so far, from what I've read, the concensus is "56006" is the fastest. This from what I can tell is still a Sprint PRL (dialing *2 gives me the "Welcome to Sprint" message versus "Welcome to Verizon" when I have a verizon PRL loaded). just maybe a TAD faster 3G, but seems to connect to LTE a lot less. I manually updated back to 55012 using the ##update# method. Has anyone found a Verizon 3G/Sprint LTE yet?

Everyone, just keep in mind that there is only like 800 MB you can ROAM per month outside the Sprint Network. After a few months of going over they will mail you a letter and even cancel your account without previous notice.

Edit: my bad not 800MB

Off-network Roaming: The primary use of your Device must be for domestic purposes within the Sprint-owned network. Domestic means use in the 50 United States and U.S. Territories (except Guam). Sprint reserves the right, without notice, to deny, terminate, modify, disconnect or suspend service if off-network usage in a month exceeds: (1) voice: 800 min. or a majority of minutes; or (2) data: 300 megabytes or a majority of kilobytes. The display on your device may not always be on and will not indicate whether you will incur roaming charges. Sprint As You Go™- Sprint may terminate service if off-network roaming usage in a month exceeds: (1) 400 min. or a majority of min.; or (2) 100 MB or a majority of KB. You can monitor usage online through My Account. Roaming is not available with single-band phones, or to customers who reside or whose primary use is outside an area covered by the Nationwide Sprint Network. Sprint may limit or terminate service if you move outside of the Sprint owned-network.
