I've been doing this since day one.

Did you also know that you can swipe to the right on an album cover in the iPod app to go back to the previous screen?

Sooooo....I'm trying to get this to work...no luck. Can anyone help me?

Not unless we can hold your hand...

When typing... Instead of tapping the 123 button to switch to get your . and number keys... Just touch 123 and HOLD your finger there. Then drag it up to the . key or whatever key and then let go.

I usually dont do this, but...

That wasnt irony.

I typed that sentence on a keyboard on my PC. I never use proper punctuation when posting on a messageboard.

If I typed that on an iphone, I guess at a stretch you would, maybe, have a bit of a point, because then that would have been bad punctuation typed on an iphone, in a thread about the iphone keypad.

It wasnt though.

So it wasnt irony, it was an observation by you, that I didnt use the correct punctuation, in a thread about iphone keypad shortcuts.

Anyhow, lets draw a line under this, and congratulate the OP on creating a thread thats, positive, useful and hasnt been done once a week for the last few years.

The irony comes from you not being able to think of cases where punctuation is not followed by a space but included several instances in the post with that comment.

This trick is probably well known by the old timers but it is nice to see a reminder for the more recent iPhone users.

The thread was definitely informative but the whole bout around the ironic lack of punctuation and denial of present irony was quite comical.

I for one, always use proper punctuation. When sending texts, tweeting, IMing and ESPECIALLY on my computer. You never know when you'll find yourself typing something like "omg dont go thr! ill c u @ the meeting boss!!!!" on accident ;)

Yeah, and when people type in short hand, you have to assume that they're an idiot. It doesn't matter if they're only doing it because they're lazy... it still makes them look and sound like they don't know anything. Just my two cents.

I have a hard time taking shorthand typing seriously when someone has a full keyboard at their disposal. *sigh* Kids these days!! ;)

When I tried it, I actually thought that a bubble would pop up containing punctuation marks...since that's what happens when you hold your finger over some of the letters. Because I couldn't get my phone to do it, I thought I was doing something wrong. I see now that it is a different function altogether.

Yes. Of course. That's been there since the birth of the OS. Anyway, this tip works for OS 1.0 onwards.

That was irony. He observed the irony in your writing based on what you had posted.

Let me guess: you're from that part of the world where no one knows what irony is. (The States)
