Flew to Puerto Rico last week.

Felt awesome to nto lug around my mbp :)

Funny I am so used to using the tray to use my computer. I know have more leg room thanks to the ipad lol

I just came back from a 5 day vacation to Boston, TSA at FLL said nothing about it, I left it in the Apple case, inside the Incase Travel Kit, inside my backpack, 0 problems. However coming back, TSA in BOS had me take the Incase bag out of my backpack, and re-checked it and my iPad separately. I didn't get any looks or comments from other passengers, and several other people on the flights were using them as well. Wi-Fi didn't work in Atalanta, it did work at Boston. Didn't try the Delta Wi-Fi, but it did connect and load the website to purchase. Battery was also exceptionally well, one charge lasted me the entire trip, although I only really used it on the flights, and before boarding. I used it very little while in Boston, only to import pictures from my camera. All in all, I loved traveling with it and did not miss my MBP one bit!

Round trip from chicago to Raleigh, NC. I watched a movie and it was perfect. Easy, fits right on the tray table. I flew southwest and there hardly room for me, not to mention me+ my MBP. So yes it was a great experience. I even caught my 2 neighbors on the plane watching my movie a couple times.

I will say I am a bit tired of answering the "how do you like it," question which EVERYONE asks!!!

I'm 3000 miles away from my home right now. The iPad was incredible and really ate up the time on the plane, especially if you have wifi access. It's a great topic of conversation too haha, people in my row and surrounding rows all had something to say about it.

Good to hear there guys. :)

Hoping to travel here again soon.. the iPad is a great companion I think in the end :)

I flew from DFW to SFO to Seoul on April 7th. I don't think I stopped fielding questions about it the entire trip! All the flight attendants were asking about it, and many passengers, too. I never left it on the seat unattended. Granted I was listening to music most of the time so I was tethered, but still; 4 days after release in 1 country & traveling to others, I wasn't about to leave myself that exposed.

It traveled fine, I had plenty of battery for the whole trip (granted I wasn't using it the whole time, as I took advantage of in-flight entertainment) but I was very pleasantly surprised at how easily it connected to the gogo inflight internet access on American Airlines. As was previously stated, I did some shopping, emailing and Yahoo! chatting enroute.

I'm also using a wireless router in my room to have WiFi with only a wired connection available.

All in all this thing travels great, and I'm so glad I was able to grab it right before I left for my long overseas trip!

For you international travelers out there, what are you using to charge the iPad? I was going to buy the international travel set that included various prongs, but a handful of Apple "geniuses" at the local store tell me that it wouldn't work. Heck, one told me that I shouldn't bother to bring it during my travels!

The geniuses were wrong. There are already thousands of international iPad users, me included, using the adapter with various prongs. In fact, my iPad is charging with the UK prong right now.

Well, that answers it! Much obliged!

I flew from Detroit to Oklahoma city yesterday on Delta. Only a 2 hour flight so no bathroom breaks for me. I left my MBP at home, and it was a nice change to not have to pull my laptop out of my backpack to pass security. I watched a tv show on the plane and played a little Harbor Master HD... Of course when i got to the hotel they only had wired internet in the room so i was hosed. Figures.

I bring an airport express with me EVERYWHERE for that very reason.

Yeah, I have used U.S., UK, and european prongs with no issues.

So far I have put something like 20,000 miles on the iPad. It really shines for me in the following areas: dealing with email and the web at the airport or airport lobbies; reading anything while flying; watching video while flying; and pretty much anything that does not involve the need of major computing.

Killer 'app' is battery life.

I just finished a business trip from Houston to San Jose and back..Love leaving my laptop at home.. A few observations:

- I have this sleeve case for my Ipad http://sfbags.com/products/ipad-cases/sleevecases-ipad.php. Did not need to remove it from the sleeve to go through security (did place it in a separate bin). Sleeve travels well and fits in the seat pocket infront of you.

- Started reading 1 ibook, listened to podcasts, music etc.. Still had over 75% of battery life left after 4 hours..

- This device begs to be connected all the time.. Wifi at the airports appears to be touch and go.. I've not had any issues with wifi at home..Only 9 of my 36 total apps (includes stock apps) can be used off line- like notepad etc..

- I found myself taking this with me to the hotel lounge/bar were normally I would never take a laptop..The sleeve makes this easy to do..

- Lot's of questions from aircrew members, passengers etc..

- I'm an iphone 3GS owner and have not done anything with the iphone except make calls and text over the last few days...

Bottom line- Unless I have to take my laptop on a trip it will stay home.. Goodreader makes it easy to take work docs etc...Wanting to be connected all the time I may pass this model on to my wife and get the 3G model when it comes out..I already had to instances on this trip (once in a cab) and once at the airport (spotty wifi) that 3G connectivity would have been golden...

hi. i have a 3gs as well and im going to hong kong in 2 weeks. I really dont want to bring my mbp with me. i probably wouldnt think about buying an ipad if i didnt have this trip. i dont plan on putting music on it cause i always have my phone with me. do u think the 16gb is a good size? how big r movies and things like that? thanks

power wise, the ipad accepts anything 110v-240v as should any piece of electronics worth its salt these days. As for the prongs, I'd just go find a cheap prong adapter which will work for pretty much anything rather than just apple stuff.
