I think the rumors have misinterpreted the positioning of the sizes. I see it as the new 12 Pro sizes will be 6.1” and 6.7”, replacing the 5.8” and 6.5”. A slight bezel reduction and flattened sides (as also rumoured) will mean their bodies are basically no larger than they are today. The 5.4” joins the lineup at the entry level (the regular 12), with a price and size appropriate for attracting those buyers still holding onto the 6/7/8.
I would love it if that happened.

I am sure I can adjust, although I do love the 5.8 size. I could probably scale either way, but more likely willing to go smaller as I don't see the benefit in a huge phone.

Rumors next year point to 5.4, 6.1, and 6.5" display sizes. If the 6.1" is identical to the other two sizes in every aspect, I wouldn't mind, but I hate to have to jump to 6.5" if it isn't. Loved the 5.8" size since in debuted in 2017.
I find the 5.8" the perfect size and would be highly disappointed. It’s the perfect size for me. I upgrade every year and would probably be inclined to pass on buying if I had to go smaller or larger.

Daily I use both an SE and a 11 Pro, I love both but something in the middle would be awesome too! Anything larger than 5.8" is too big for me.

I completely agree. For me, the 5.8" display size is ideal and I'd rather not move up to 6.5".

This is what I really hope. 5.4 is too small and 6.7 is too big. And so far the budget phone has been 6.1. If they make these changes then the 6.1 phone has to be a pro.

I would love to see a downsize of the flagship model to 5.4“ instead of 5.8“. Not only because of the size, also because of the weight.
