Do you carry your iPhone in your pocket with the Sleep/Wake button toward the floor and the screen facing your leg?

Screen towards leg in case I bump into something. As for what end up, who the heck cares (though logic dictates if I am holding phone up to ear after a call the natural action of putting it in pocket would result in power button end down).

I keep my iPhone the same way in my pocket. So when i lift it out i can press the home button when i bring it out and keep the screen protected by my leg.

Screen facing inwards is a no-brainer. I have the microphone/home button at the bottom, though, as I'm used to the manoeuvre I use to pull it out of my pocket and sitting nicely in my palm.

Also, if you're on the go, having the headphone socket at the top makes just too much sense.

Just to mess with your heads -

I always put electronics in pockets so that the screen's facing away from my leg because I once pulled an iPod out only to have the rivet on my jeans put a huge gouge in the screen.

Now I know glass vs plastic but still

Happily this isn't a problem for me really 'cause I'm a woman and I have an assortment of handbags which I just carelessly fling my phone into.

Teach you to wear too-tight jeans.
OP - you are worrying about this way too much. And just to mess with you:

1) left or right (and what is your handedness)?
2) front or back or cargo pocket?

I put my iPhone in my belt like a cop in a movie. It falls out every ten seconds but for each of those ten second periods I feel so cool!

::High fives self::

Screen facing my leg, sleep/wake button facing up in my righthand pocket. I don't call it OCD, I just call it habit.

Firstly I think it helps protect the screen. Secondly, it is easy to flip the mute switch without removing it from my pocket. Lastly, I am right handed so it kind of makes sense. Plus one of my pairs of work trousers/pants has a smaller pocket inside the larger one on the right hand side. The smaller one is a perfect fit for the iPhone thereby holding the phone better so it just feels a lot more natural now putting iPhone in the right pocket, change and keys in the left.

Same as OP.

1) right pocket (right handed)
2) front

I usually keep my iphone all by it self in that pocket and put my keys and extra junk in my left. That makes it more difficult to get out my keys if I'm holding something on the way to my car/apt (I usually hold everything with my left hand to keep my right free. Plus, I'm military and we are supposed to keep our saluting hand free), but it's worth it for my iphone :)

I don't put my iPhone in my pocket very much but when I do, I put it upside down with the screen facing my leg too. It's just easier to take out and use because you don't have to spin it around.

Left pocket because keys are in the right pocket
Screen to the leg
On/Off down, unless the earbuds are in and talking/listening

Ok... when texting... or in landscape in general
Home button to the left or the right?

Right side pocket (car key is the left pocket), screen facing my leg, microphone/speaker facing down.

I used to have the speaker facing up, but the dust under the screen issue changed that because dust was entering through the 30-pin port (I must have dusty pockets). After Apple replaced the screen on my iPhone the speaker has always faced down.

And yes, mild OCD.

I try never to carry mine in my pocket because I'm afraid of scratches, but on the rare occasion that it's necessary, it goes in the right front pocket, sleep/wake button down. Oh, and the screen faces my leg.

I usually carry mine in my right pocket (since I'm right-handed) with the screen facing inwards and the sleep/wake button towards the floor. On rare occasions where I'm at a party or somewhere that I'm texting a lot, I'll store my phone in my back pocket for easy access

So do you carry it in your hand at all times?

I carry mine with the sleep button down and screen facing my leg. I feel like I'd have to go out of the way to put it in my pocket any other way...
