I know I am. It'll be this June and I really can't wait. The iphone is decent but not with this network - and I blame the way the iphone does keep alive checks/network searching as part of the problem.

Will probably get some sort of android based phone.

Anyone else?

Not at all. I have never been without 5 bars of 3G with my iPhone. Granted, I have not traveled to the northern part of the state yet, but when near my home, I couldn't be happier with AT&T. and frankly, I'm sick of people complaining about it. If you don't like AT&T, jailbreak and unlock for T-Mobile, or go android. Either way, stop whining.

I have 5 bars on my iphone almost all the time. The problem is I'll then try to get on the internet or get my email, and it'll sit, then wait, then say it can't connect. The times where it does say "no network" or "searching", it'll often suddenly find 5 bars.

It isn't so much the reception as the fact that my iphone is constantly lying to me.

I'm glad to hear your phone works so well wherever you are in Minnesota but I can assure you in San Francisco it's a big problem.

I think I will go android. And if you want me to quit complaining, write a letter to AT&T and Apple asking them to fix the network and the way the iphone searches for the network. If it worked, I wouldn't complain.

Nope, very happy with AT&T.
If you want to switch do you need others to follow you too?
Move on.

I don't need anyone to follow me, but I know plenty will. It's a miserable experience and I can't wait to get rid of thing thing.

I'm happy with AT&T... so no.

I have mixed feelings. Typically i've never been without 5 bars / 3G... great service.. EXCEPT

I go to michigan state university, on football / basketball day games.. I NEVER have 3G and my phone is essentially unusable... I also traveled to chicago recently and i had no 3G and my phone sucked balls there.. I can imagine where people would want to ditch AT&T..

Yeah, the power saving way that it frequently disconnects from the network has been chalked up as an issue.

Interestingly:

It's important to note, however, that this technique is not limited to the iPhone. Android and webOS devices also use a similar technique to increase battery life. While the iPhone was the first and currently most prolific device of this type, such smartphones are quickly becoming common, and represent the majority of growth in mobile phone sales in the past year.

Anyhow, AT&T is great in my area. Voice call quality is on par with Verizon, and the data speed exceeds it. I'm not switching.

Contrary to popular belief, not everyone hates AT&T. I'm quite satisfactory with them, actually. Of course I can always dream of my bill being lower ;)

I get absolutely no service during my schools basketball games. No 3G, no EDGE, no texts, no voice. Its useless.

Thanks for the link, that really confirms what I have long suspected. THAT is a feature I wish I could turn off. It's easy for me to leave my iphone plugged in all day - unfortunately, considering I can't make phone calls, use the internet, or send/receive text messages, battery life really isn't helping me.

I've got a feeling Android or possibly a jailbroken iphone will have some sort of software or option to turn that off.

If you say so....

Me and many others.

That's basically my work day, every day.

Dude, we get it. You're cool, you're awesome, you dislike at&t. You're such a trendsetter. Why do you need to continue arguing with the people who don't have a problem w/ the Death Star? Why do you have to make your voice be heard, do you not think that there are enough people out there already bitching about their service (when really, it's just a location/congestion issue)?

Oh yeah, and learn how to multi-quote

It depends on what the new iPhone is like. I'm pretty happy with mine, but I do like the HTC Desire. That said, if you are having so many problems with your iPhone, then it sounds like it is for the best to find something else that is more reliable.

I'm excited to take my iPhone to Verizon - but am not counting down the days as of yet because I am under contract with ATT for then next year.

We were just having this discussion the other night and they were whining about ATT coverage with their iPhone. My honest opinion is that this is just 'talk'. Something they 'think' they are not getting as most of those people live in the same area as I do and I get great coverage.

I use my phone for 'talking' maybe only 10% of the time. 90% is apps, email, internet, and the most is texting. So I don't complain about coverage despite all the commercials saying ATT lacks in coverage.

Oh wow... you must be a troll, no way you could make such ignorant response willingly.

Oh come on, give him some credit. At least he just started his account today, and his picture is soooo dreamy. It doesn't look fake at all! (Ugh, looks like it was cut out of a Gap ad) :p

Well, seeing as that is the case... I correct myself. The poster is just the average consumer/user who happens to want x on xz but doesn't know that x is not compatible with xz, even if it has x.

Also, no comment on your last sentences. Edit - Still, no comment.

I'm staying... mine works fantastic in South Bend, IN. 3G is always a go, and rarely lose calls. It even has great coverage in dept. stores where Verizon used to go blank every-time when I was on big red.

Can you hold your breath until 2012?

Another one of these posts huh.... If you're so unhappy then switch carriers.

See ya, buh bye, don't let the door hit you where the good lord split ya, auf wiedersehen, Aloha, Salut, Bonne journée, Tschüß, Poi carukiren, Takuss, Dewa mata, Prošaikua, Tutaonana, Adzzislytödz, Hasta mas oh-k'in, Iimwan, Nemizpäl, Ogumeho, Narak iktar tard, Bai bai, Haere ra, Tseveryn, Chjëtji, Totazqueh, Farvel, Ki-ka-wah-pah-min mino, Lukim iu bihaen, Na razie, Dzan devlesa, Do svidanja, Tofa, Beannachd leibh, Cheerio, Zbogom, Chha la na thui no, Zhivijo, Hasta la vista, Tschüßle, Paalom na po, Adiósibá, Sawatdi, Njichaabira, Kykkõ hüvvä, Arveûy, Salani kahle, and don't let the door hit you in the a$$

You really don't need to come on a forum and let every one know that you're leaving... just do it. If you are so unhappy, why haven't you already? I'm sure what ever phone you get next with what ever carrier you pick you will be on their forums after not to long whining about the same things and telling all of them that you're leaving.

Nope. Been with AT&T for ten years, with exception to two weeks I had a verizon phone. They can have their crappy service.
