I'll tell you what, all of you who are unhappy with where Apple seems to be headed, put your money where your mouth is.. create better products.

Actually its more that people will put their money where their mouth is and buy other products. Seems kind of silly to tell people they need to BUILD new products. As consumers most of us don't have that ability, but we can buy competing products.

To put it another way, just because some people are unhappy with apple products mean they have to create a better product.

No empire lasts forever.
Agreed and even Steve saw this and knew it was coming, he just didn't' know when[/QUOTE]

I can't believe we have YATAAD (Yet Another Thread About Apple's Demise, pronounced yah-täd). Can't we merge all of these into one large thread?

If you don't like Apple's products as they are, buy others. Buy the products that best fit your needs. It really is that simple. I have done this when I didn't like Apple's pricing structure, for example.

Steve Jobs didn't have that ability either, he went out and created it. If we want something bad enough, we'll find a way.. otherwise, we'll find an excuse.

Actually he had a crew of engineers to create it. While has had some engineering background, he was not involved in the nuts and bolts of creating a product.

Edit: what I mean nuts and bolts, is creating the circuits, or assembling the components, he was certainly involved in the details, including how the logic board should look like

Agreed and that way for consumers is to buy a product that fits their needs, not trying to create one :)

And how did he acquire those engineers? My point is, if Steve did it, any one of us could do the same.. if we really wanted it. He was a human being, no different than the rest of us.

I disagree but that's fine. At the time of the macintosh, he was running a multibillion (or million I forget what he had in the early 80s) dollar company and had the ability to hire people. Many people have no access to such resources, and most people are not trained as an electrical engineer.

Either way, people do vote (or should) with their wallets and buy something that they prefer if the mac is not the right tool.

While I do agree the MBA will be phased out, and ya, i''m worried, since i just bought one over the 12-inch Macbook....... I only just got use to a 13-inch and Apple is gonna force users onto 12-inch Mac? which wold be the most logical comparable step..

10.x inch iPad Pro.... seems like Apple releases two independent products, find that nitch in a year or two, then brings out a better one which combined features from both, then that gives Apple a reason to easily discontinue either the original ones to say "well we have this better product that combines both features from he previous two products."

Agreed on the MBP. My mid 2015 machine crashes constantly. cmd alt esc is becoming almost as well used as ctrl alt del on my old hp.

1) Fumbled my Series 2 SS Watch from 6" high on the night stand and cracked the edge of the screen
2) iPhone 6S Plus battery went bad after 8 months
3) iPad Pro already laggy and requires many double-taps to get a response.
4) 2-yr old loaded iMac already at a crawl and loves to shut down randomly
5) 1-yr old MacBook Pro scrolling stutters and pauses all the time, making web site navigation painful
6) Siri still sucks
7) News of bad battery life and graphics issues with the new TouchBar MacBook Pro

I don't have a single Apple product at this point that works great. I used to look forward to the launch of new Apple products, now I don't think I want to spend that much for the stress. Thinking hard about an exit strategy from the ecosystem, and really want to start dumping Apple stock. Am I expecting too much, or have things really dropped off over the past two or three years?

I'd say my terrific experience with most of those same products is just anecdotal, like yours, but seeing how Apple still rates highest for quality and customer satisfaction, perhaps it's time to examine what's causing the negative karma in your life. Did you perhaps kick a puppy or stop tipping your baristas? Or, closer to home, you haven't trolled Apple by using "courage" or "thinness" themes have you???

My experience with apple products has been positive as well. While I agree that Siri is inferior to Google Now, my actual products (knocks on wood) have been great

I have been using Apple products since 2005 and have always had very satisfactory experiences. I've only had one situation where a logic board replacement was needed, and that was covered by AppleCare. All of the products I've purchased and used have been just fine right out of the box.

Same here, there's been a few exceptions, but overall the quality has been top notch.

With that said, Apple's track record with laptops has been concerning, i.e., high volume of models with defective GPUs (2008 -> 2011), reflective coating flaking off on models after that (2012 -> 2015). I've been lucky that none of those impacted me, but I point out that its not all great.

So far my iMac has been the great, and my 2012 rMBP has been the best laptop I've owned.

The more u make, the harder it is to still be perfect and not have the odd Macs go belly up. Are we asking Apple to do the impossible?

I don't think any meet better GPU's and still hold the same as they always have done...

That's like asking a bird to fly in a straight line only... You can do it but not with a gust of wind
