The transition from App closing to Home screen is kind of choppy. The way they changed the transition sucks.

:(

My 3GS is smooth. Do you have a 3G?

And what change are you referring to?

I have 3GS. Im not sure what change, but on my iPod Touch, it is definitely different.

Surprisingly, the closing animations were always smooth on my iPhone 3G… it's the opening animations that stuttered bad on certain apps.

I don't think Apple has changed the way apps are opened/closed. It has always been the same for me. I now have a 3G S, but it wasn't any different with my old 3G except when it was choppy at times.

My 3G stutters a bit when closing apps - more specifically, most 3rd party apps. Happened ever since 3.0.

Since 3.0 the 3G has been dog slow as far as transitions is concerned, and is generally much slower on the whole. Apple don't seem to have got around to fixing that yet for some reason...

This is something I've definitely noticed. I have a 3GS and the animations are often quite choppy, whereas on my iPod touch 2G the animations are always extremely smooth, which is strange considering that the touch is inferior hardware. Perhaps it's because the iPhone has more background processes running?

Damn this is driving me nuts

Maybe you and TheSpaz can get a package deal at The iPhone Sanatorium For The Treatment Of OCD. Of course, this assumes you and The Spaz are really two different people.

In case you're keeping score, no, I could not care less about how Apps close. My iPhone is not my desktop and I don't stare at it all day long searching for supposed graphic anomalies.

Wait a minute. I see you also started the 'This is a serious iPhone security risk/ problem' thread. That explains a lot.

Apple has changed the way that apps transition closed. The app screen used to scale down until it was too small and finally disappeared (in 2.x). Ever since 3.0, apps now scale and fade to black at the same time. It's a scale/fade.

I agree. This is the reason why I'm on 2.2.1. Everything is nice and smooth all the time for me on 2.2.1.

My 3GS closes apps fast and smoothly. And, my 3GS has 5 pages of apps and it's total memory space used is 25GB. How much stuff have you filled your iPhone with?

It was like that before I jailbroke + filled it with music.

Perhaps it has something to do with the jailbreak?

People crack me up. Filling the iPhone with music doesn't affect the way the iPhone runs. The OS has it's own space allocated, so you could technically fill your iPhone until there was NO space left for any more music and your iPhone wouldn't act any different. iTunes won't allow you to fill your iPhone completely anyway.

HAHA this is classic.

Wait for the 23rd response of the thread to mention that you jailbroke your phone.

Here's an idea: complain about the software on your iphone when you're running the software that Apple supports.
