Too much of anything and you will eventually get jaded or fatigued. I love movies...i cant ever picture my life not loving watching a good movie. But when i was in my late teens early 20s (im 43) i used to work at a movie theater as an usher, and id get to watch any movie i wanted for free on employee screenings on thursday night or durring your off hours during the week. The summer of 2001-2022 i saw so many movies i grew bored with watching movies. Now keep in mind i grew up in a household that almost never went to the movies at all. you were lucky if you saw 1-2 movies A YEAR in theaters. We always waited for them to be on video and back in the 80s and 90s you could wait a year or so before a movie that was in theaters hit home video, depending on the movie...it was usually 6 months to a year. So growing bored of seeing movies in theaters, i felt jaded and empty.
Same with apple products. I adore them, best computers ive ever used, got my first Ipod in 2007 or so...Traded someone my Playstation Portable for a touch screen IPod, knew i had to get my first Iphone in 2008 or so. Bought my first Macbook in 2009, Saved every penny i had for the first Ipad in 2010, the first apple watch in 2015.
I used to try to update every year the Iphones and Ipads and watches. over the years sometimes id skip a year or two depending on the features.
I still get hyped for new stuff, but it has to be worth it, and it gets harder now with all the price increases and not enough value.
Im hyped for the Iphone Fold/Ultra but it still has to be worth its asking cost. Im not wealthy, far from it. Any new device im getting, im likely trading in an older device to offset the cost, because i dont see the need for 2 iphones or ipads or apple watches, and i dont have the means or the space to be a collector.
THAT SAID...if i was wealthy (far from it) id upgrade every year sight unseen. I trust apple enough to know they dont put out crappy products and if money was no object id not only upgrade without question every year, but id think id be a collector in some form or another, thats how much i love the tech.
BUT there have been plenty of years where i was bored with what was rumored...."oh a new camera button...oh a different type of charger, no this, smaller that, etc....meh)
It all depends on the value for the price.
