Ok let me clarify, I'm not using me being a college student as an excuse. I have a credit card and pay it on time I also have a 80 dollar a month bill from BOSE for there aviation headset that I have always paid on time since december. So I have some credit I just wish I knew if I would be accepted. I will go tomorrow and see if I can get a credit check.

They may approve you with a deposit. This can be a hefty charge. You might be better off either getting a cosignor or getting a letter vouching for your creditworthiness (from a landlord, ideally, or if not that, then your parents vouching that they will secure the line and including details to verify their credit) and bringing that with you when you get the credit run to see if you can work something out.

Great News!!!!

I got pre-approved today!!!!! 0 Deposit and Also I get a 20% discount on my voice plan because of where I work. I am super excited for friday, now all I have to do is figure out if I should take off work early to get there. If not I would get there at 4:00. I might shove off at noon and check it out.

lucky on the voice discount. i only get "up to 2%" off my voice for my company. it's like 80 cents.

Banks are not going to want to deal with you because they are making $0 on your account, so if you pay your off your balance every month, you might as well have a zero activity account.

Well, the credit card company (usually tied to a bank) does make money off of the vendor. In the past(I hear it's much lower now), they charged the merchant up to 5% of your charge, which is why many stores create their own credit line.
Even if you don't use the credit card, having it improves your credit to debt ratio, which is a large part of your FICO.
