Yes, I like Fever. I've paid for the script and it runs on hosting I pay for. I meant I'm not going back to free (therefore you are the product) cloud services.

I'm using Reeder to access Fever on my iDevices so in day to day use its no different to using Reeder with Google Reader.

May I ask you a couple questions about Fever. :)

Can you just not use the kindling and all that business and have it present exactly like Reader or Reeder does now?

How are you using Fever on the desktop? Just the web interface?

If you put all your feeds in the Kindling section and ignore both the Sparks and Hot sections Fever in Reeder looks just the same as Google feeds.

I don't tend to read a lot on the desktop, that's what my iPad is for. :) It seems functional enough though, you can click on a group or an individual feed and get a list. Each list item contains a title and an excerpt, so it's quite easy to scan down a load of articles.
