There are a lot of people reporting the same on reddit. It makes to jump as long as you are fine with 60hz.

I don’t see a point in going from the iPad Pro 13” to the Mini 7 unless you just want to use it handheld or on the go. But i have both and they complement each other by doing different things well.

Gotta say, dropping from an M4 13” Pro to a Mini 7 is a HUGE drop. Half the size, massive reduction on performance, no OLED screen, half the brightness.. I think personally I’d have both first to see if I could use both.

i went from ipad pro 11 inch (2020 version) to mini this year and I personally like the change. But that's because I find the mini compliments my macbook air well. When I need a bigger screen, i've got the air. For everyday life of just reading articles and watching a few youtube videos, the mini is great. But that's because I don't use the ipad for any of the "pro" reasons the pro is for.

I was considering it, but honestly, having a modded Gamesir controller slapped onto the back of the M4 11" iPad is just too good a combo for gaming. The extra screen size really makes it fantastic.

What a waste of money doing that. 🙄 Yeah, let’s downgrade to a way inferior product because of herp derp size. Should have got the 11” if the 13” is to big.

Sometimes, you don’t know what works for you until you’ve tried it for a while.

A technically inferior Mini that someone actually uses is better than a specced out 13” M4 that would just sit in a drawer because it’s too bulky or heavy.

Granted, most folks are happy enough with just their big phones and have no need for tablets at all.

I didn’t go from an iPad Pro to an iPad mini. I have both. They really compliment each other very nicely. As an artist, the iPad Pro is my main content creation device, but when I really want to travel light, I always grab my iPad mini. It’s the perfect size digital sketchbook when on the go. 👍🏼

i use my m1 air laptop, while the replacement bought for it (mbp 14 m1 pro) sits unused because of the weight, fans and not offering anything better for my workloads.

Having moved from a 12.9" to an 11", it feels *tiny* . . . and my hands-on Daily is an iPhone Mini, if that adds to the discussion ;)

I went from M1 12.9 (given away to a family member) and Mini 6 (sold) to M4 11 and I’m loving it. The 11 is comfortable and light enough for reading and the screen + MK are big enough for emailing, PowerPoints, etc.

I tried using a 12.9 M1 Pro and Mini 6. Just could not. The screen difference drove me crazy.

The 11 really is the sweet spot and best all around iPad.

i did go from 2018 12.9 to 11 pro in 2018 to 2021 iPad mini 6th gen. The mini is my favorite after using each pro for one year each. It’s so compact I love it. Best purchase in 2021.

I see you like the 11” model, fair enough. But to me it still feels like a tablet that’s not a tablet, it’s designed to be used with that keyboard case. Because if I hold it naked and type on it it’s pretty uncomfortable to do so. Now I can and do use my none keyboard third party case on it but then it becomes too bulky to hold and type on and I have to stand it up in the case and then my typing isn’t as accurate on it. I can hold it vertically with the keyboard at the very bottom isn’t good as all the weight is at the top then. And you cannot move the in screen keyboard only split it.
However you do get some nice screen real estate with the 11” and of course top end specs. But for comfortable holding and use of a naked iPad i think the Mini could be the best option.
I got my 11” as I had an incredibly old Mac and it was my main device for the last 2 or 3 years. Now I’ve got a new Mac I don‘t want a device that needs a keyboard attached to make it usable in a comfortable way.

This is my preferred route too. I understand the appeal of the mini, but it just feels like too much of a compromise for a tablet.
