Also curious. I tried on the Apple Watch this weekend and even the 42mm just looked too small for my wrist. I'm considering the Huawei Watch and the LG Urbane amongst some others, and as long as it does everything my Pebble Classic does, I'll probably go that route and wait for a better Apple Watch.

I am and hate it. I used to have a Note 5 and Nexus 6 so that why I had it. It was great and really helped deal with notifications. Now that I have my 6S, it can't do anything but run google apps. I can't perform actions on notifications like reply or even archive mail. I can't run apps or see navigation on the watch which was really its best feature on Android. I highly recommend an Apple Watch on iOS. Moto 360 2nd gen BTW.

I really want notifications and something to control my music.

I see some Moto 360's for around $100. Might try it out

I can't do those things on a Pebble either, so I'm used to it. But you're saying you still get all the notifications? That's 90% of what I need.

Pretty much what I'm looking for. IMO the iOS android wear app pretty much killed the pebble watch unless 7 day battery life is an absolute necessity.

Yes you get all notifications and access to google apps like weather and search. I have a moto 360 2nd gen I'm trying to sell if anyone wants to PM me about it.

Just got my hands on a moto 360 to test out.

Need to somehow find a way to sync the Google fitness data to my phone.

First impression, not bad especially for the price.

Check this: http://mobihealthnews.com/46522/goo...h-healthkit-sends-data-to-google-fit-instead/

You might be able to on the phone by either getting another app that syncs with Google fit or by checking the website through safari, but right now there is no google fit app on ios. The watch should still be able to sync with Google fit on the cloud though.

Well for $100 guess I can't complain. At least it still tells me how many steps.

Is this watch supposed to vibrate with notifications?

awesome. that's exactly what I'm looking at. can't wait for a real user update from macrumors.

I think the major difference in experience with iPhones and android wear will take place with the android wear app more than the hardware.

So, the Huawei watch will be going back today. Most of my decision has to do with software limitations

Pros:
  • Always on display.
  • Classic form factor
  • Same battery life as Apple Watch
  • Notifications appear on watch and phone (this is a major one for me. I came from a Pebble, where my phone would "ding" and my watch would vibrate. This is important to me).
Cons:
  • Initiating any action on the watch that requires handoff to the phone, or an internet connection for additional details causes the watch to disconnect your BT connection.
  • I did rather miss having Complications. Being able to set a timer or see my next meeting from the default watch face is really nice.
  • Watch faces: I found I preferred the Idle screen watch face to the full color one. The faces were designed to be TOO life-like, and the screen resolution just couldn't pull it off.
  • Watch face "store" extremely limited
  • Vibration motor is extremely weak. I missed a lot of notifications.
Overall, I just didn't think the Android Wear experience justified all of the features I'd be missing with the Apple Watch. I might buy a Pebble Steel Time and give that a try.

Ha, I tried a Moto 360 1st generation this weekend too (steel, 46mm, $164 after tax), and I liked a lot of what it could do, but I see the same limitations. The biggest drawback for me though was the battery - I don't think it'll make it through a full work day with the amount of notifications I get. I may return mine as well.

Yeah actually for $100 the battery was the only complaint. Seemed it wouldn't last a day and. I'm not sure why.
