Hah! Sackatomatoes! No FIOS there, eh? There wasn’t when I lived in Seattle either. One of the few perks of living on the East Coast.

only the nest wifi can replace my router. The google wifi can only be added to my existing router?

I want to completely get rid of my Verizon router if possible.

The thing is I have two devices that I need to connect via Ethernet to a router and seems their is only one port on the nest Wi-Fi or google Wi-Fi. The nest access points don’t have Ethernet.

any suggestions? or am I wrong in my understanding

I have the Google WiFi. Costco has a pretty good priced bundle with 4 nodes. I was really leery of it at first (being Google and all) but after putting in my own DNS server, it's been rock solid.

You have two choices how to use it:
As a router - where it connects to your cablemodem and manages the network. Or you can run it in "bridged mode" where it just adds itself to your home network meshing seamlessly with your wired networked equipment and existing router.

I bought the nest Wi-Fi. It’s amazing! I only bought the router cause my house isn’t too big. But I will def buy another point when and if they go on sale

Yeah, I was surprised too. I read a bunch of reviews and was surprised to see that it was so well-liked. Disadvantage is a lack of social settings and customization (I previously used regular routers with custom firmware). But most of what I had the router handle before (VPN mostly) my NAS does now.
