Hosted online?

I was wondering if you possibly have this hosted somewhere online? I'm in a similar situation to the original post and can't access cydia via my idevice seeing as how I can't connect it to the net. I have a jailbroken iphone and would love to be able to access wifi here in Bagram.

If I can get the deb package onto my PC I'm assuming I would be able to do a manual install onto the iphone with OpenSSH.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe they have all been fixed by now, so you might try to refresh Cydia and see if they show up for you now.

It only "works" if you install it with Cydia directly, or with apt-get or aptitude.
coreutils, on the other hand, can be installed manually with dpkg, and this is why your first problem is now fixed.

It's not necessary to uninstall. Just let Cydia update RP-PPPoE for you.

You were right about cydia sources.
I did what you said. (Installed Bigboss recommended tools in cydia and upgrade rp-pppoe-ios_3.10-3)
After a while when I tried to connect again, second picture error happend with
different codes after "Line 185: "
756,149,344,539,734,924,1115,1300,.....
Each time I run "pppoe-start" different digits shown and I'm not connected to the internet.

I see the dilemma. Yeah, I can try to get all of the needed packages up in one place so that you can download them manually to a PC. It'll probably be a day or two before I get around to it, so just keep checking back...

Another option you have is to get your PC on-line, and then get a wireless access point or router that you can plug into the PC's ethernet port. Enable Internet Connection Sharing on the PC to share your wireless PPPoE connection to the ethernet port, and then have the iPhone connect to the AP/router via WiFi. Then at least your iPhone would be on-line and you could install RP-PPPoE through Cydia the normal way.

Huh, that's very strange. Honestly, I have no idea. Could you post another screenshot of this when it happens to you?

You could try completely uninstalling RP-PPPoE and reinstalling it. Remove it in Cydia, and then delete all files from /etc/ppp directory. Then reinstall in Cydia again, and re-run pppoe-setup.

Also I have another problem, When I want too update your source or another one, errors occurs like third and fourth and fifth attachment.
I shoud say that I have access to internet in my office through LAN network with authenticated proxy.(username and password)

I brought a router with me when I deployed to Afghanistan but I'm not sure if this option would work. I've attempted to create and ad-hoc and share my net connection that way and it disconnects me from the ISP as soon as I apply it. Not sure if this is something I'm doing wrong or some form of a protocol set in place by the provider to keep people from sharing their connection.

No rush on hosting anything. I've read your previous posts and noted that this is something you've done in your free time. A couple of days is more than I could hope for. Thanks again for everything and for such a quick response.

and re-run pppoe-setup.

Excuse me because of my silly mistake.
After Upgrade I forgot to re-run pppoe-setup,and I think All of that errors happened because of this mistake.
All of Problems is Fixed now and thanks for your effort.
One Suggestion:
What do you think about turning on/off wifi automatically by running
pppoe-start/stop ?!?!
one question:
Do you have any idea about pass site filtering by this kind of connection?

WeIphone

NathanA,

Hey brother, disregard on hosting anything online. I did a manual install of the weiphone app and edited some code lines so it reads out in english. Took forever without wifi but I got it working ;).

Thanks again.

Hi NathanA !!!

A question about how to use VPN with
Your pppoe connection?

I have tried to install RP-PPPoE from your repositary, installing openSSH from Cydia and connecting SSH by iSSH, I got error of time out and says some conf file can not be access like that.

I tired to find the BigBoss Recommemation Tool but I could not find anywhere.

Could you tell me how I can install and run PPPoE on my iphone

Well, I haven't played around with this in a while, but I just finished installing it on a near-stock iOS 5.1.1 install (iPhone 4), and it still works perfectly for me.

If you installed it from the repository, then it installed all of the popper dependencies and should be working. If it is not working for you, then it probably has less to do with how you installed it, and more to do with your configuration.

For example, in my experience, you will get a "TIMEOUT" error if you type in the wrong username and/or password when you run pppoe-setup; it doesn't appear to report authentication errors. I would re-setup and make sure you are typing in the username and password that your ISP gave you correctly.

If you still can't get it to work, I have to believe that either you aren't connected to the right network, or you are using the wrong username/password and you just don't know it. Call your ISP and ask them to verify your username and password and then have them check their connection logs for attempts from you. Have them watch the logs as you try to make the iPhone connect to them while you are on the phone with them. If you are failing authentication, they should be able to tell you that.
