I believe the KEXT is only for Promise Utility and CLTs/CMDs. I am just wondering if they will update the Promise Utility with a daemon, for Big Sur on say a Mac Pro 2013? I mean if they don't we'd still be able to use our RAID's via TB2/3 but would have to boot off a Mojave/Catalina drive to run the Promise Utility (if not supported on Big Sur), to reformat/partition, unless like using Apple Disk Utility for your Enclosure...

They have a 2020/09/15 update for utlility and the release notes say 10.15 and above?

I have a Legacy Promise Pegasus R4 (old as dirt) and got it working for my new Mac Studio (M1 Ultra) with the driver from Promise. Use the Promise.com Support Page, Legacy, Pegasus2 Series, Pegasus2 R4. Download the M1 driver for Mac there:

Pegasus2 Series Driver for Mac

SR3.4.16 only support for Mac M1 and MacOS 11.0 or later.

The README is attached.

Best!

Thanks GP,

I have an R6 that I was hoping to use with my new Mac Studio, and I'll give this a try. Much appreciated.

Just got a new M1 Max Studio & am using it with an old Pegasus2 R8. I've gotten the driver installed & had the unit working. This morning after the computer had been sleeping, it was not showing up (even after a restart). Shut down the Mac, changed the cable & completely powered down the R8 and after starting everything back up it seems to be working properly. Am I in store for troubles like this in the long run??

Also has anyone been able to get the Promise Utility working? I have ver. 4.06.0000.04 installed & when I open it, nothing happens? I've even tried running it using Rosetta w/ no luck... in fact the first time I tried launching it, I had a nasty crash.
