My battery drain has been crazy bad recently and, while I use some of the features of JB, curious if I should move to 7.1.1.....I understand I would lose JB for good but it's gotten bad. Thanks.
Do provide a list so we can help.

You can use Activator (and IFTTT) to automate stuff in order to make life easier *and* safe battery.

Activator example: disable data (or just 3G if your iPhone has no nasty 4G toggle) when connected to Wi-Fi [and turn it back on when leaving Wi-Fi network].
IFTTT + Activator example: receive IFTTT SMS at sunset & sunrise, use Activator to link F.lux to the SMS so it does not run during the day.

I tried all of that but it seemed like all of the addtl actions did more harm to by battery than doing nothing at all. The only thing I have found I like to use with JB is being able to attach documents to emails (not just Dropbox links). Seriously considering the move to 7.1.1.

Can you list what you're using as far as tweaks go?

If all you use jb for is attaching docs to emails, then what the heck have you installed that would cause a battery drain worth correcting?

Anyone know if it truly is possible to downgrade from 7.1.1 to 7.1 or earlier, to go back and jailbreak?

nope, you can't downgrade to any iOS 7.x besides the latest, even with an A4 device. don't think any software has been updated to support custom iOS 7.x restores yet

I've thought about it on my rMini, since it feels so unstable at times. But I would miss it, so I haven't.

The instability isn't due to jailbreak, though, it's due to 7.0.6.

Tap and Hold - Multitask
Double Tap - Sleep

Everything else is disabled.

I think it's virtual home hurting your battery. I know it makes mine a lot less longer but I'm always near a charger. I would say it deceases mine by an hour maybe. I love the tweak tho

Hey guys, been a while since I've been on here. I recently bought an iPad mini (not retina) and it's on 7.1.1. I searched but I couldn't really find anything; is an untethered jb available? Or are we playing the waiting game until the devs drop something? Who even are the devs anymore? I need help :D

You really looked and didn't see a whole bunch of threads asking the same thing essentially (and getting the same repeated answer that no such thing exists so far)?

Ahh, I am so quickly reminded of why I left in the first place :p

Cool, I got my answer. Cheers!

Cool...will disable for a little while to see what it does. That, iKeywi and OpenNotifier are main reasons I have stayed put.

My battery has been pretty bad for the past couple months, and I have no idea what's draining it. I've tried recalibrating it twice, and that didn't help at all. Does anyone have any idea out of these what would be causing the drain?

I know some have issues with these ones and drain. So check those out but I'm suggesting Bioprotect because you almost never use it. And no point in having a useless tweak IMO.

Get a mophie case and deal with the battery drain.

Every update is said to improve battery life. I know people who never jailbroke with horrible battery life

Actually after posting my last reply, I decided to remove all my jailbreak tweaks and use the phone like normal... and frankly I don't think I notice it at all.

My reason for the jailbreak was to get tethering via MiWi and downloading bigger things over the 100MB limit when I am on the go via My3G, but for my main phone I already have tethering enabled with my SP and I have a data cap of 2GB, so I don't think I actually want this.

And the only other thing I used was Applocker, but I actually think it might be easier to use the phone without having to unlock my apps all the time. I have been using a very decent and long password for my phone with the introduction of Touch ID, so I'm not terribly concerned about unauthorized access.

Then again there really aren't any features in iOS 7.1.x that I think I need that isn't present in iOS 7.0.6; the only difference I see is the style tweaks which doesn't really make a difference to me.

Anyways if Apple does release something substantial or there is some serious security bug that I need to have fixed (the attachments bug doesn't really bother me), then I will probably give up my jailbreak for an update.

I also should probably get used to not having a jailbreak a la iOS 8 that will undoubtedly be loaded onto the next iPhone release whatever it may be.
