Anyone making the move to purchase movies in iTunes from ripping blu rays?

For movies I barely care about and only envisage watching once, I'll rent from iTunes. For favourites, ones I'll watch over again, I'll stick to blu-ray they're cheaper and usually come with interesting supplementary material.

Don't be so sure about that. Convenience is a big deal. At least for the 99% who are normal folks and wouldn't know MacRumors from Trader Joe's.
Having your entire collection in the cloud, available anywhere, anytime and not having to mess with ripping and encoding is a BIG DEAL. It really is. I have not made the switch myself but it becomes more tempting as the quality improves on the iTunes Store and they keep adding value-adds such as iCloud storage and retrieval.
