How do you think you're in the minority? Almost everyone in this thread has said they prefer the new style.

I was thinking more in the larger community, where many people seem to prefer no home button at all, like the iPhone X and presumably the new iPad Pro.

I’m not sure how you came to that conclusion? Many people? The majority of consumers still _likely_ use older style iPhones with home buttons and have not migrated to the X yet, being its not even been available for a year, where as models like the 5s/6/6s/7 Have saturated the market for years. My point is, I don’t think you have enough grounds to make that assumption without some type of evidence, especially being the iPhone X is still a fairly new device.

I was speaking more of the techie community, but I didn't mean to suggest something conclusive. If most people prefer having a home button that just puts me in good company.

7 doesn't have a mechanical home button

Why'd you go back to a 6S?

Didn’t say it did

Said “haptic home button” for newest two as in 7 and 8

Mechanical for oldest two as in 6s and Se

Had the 7+, went back to the 6s. In my opinion, no big deal. Used both without any difference in my perception.
