Good question. This monitor is effectively a wider version of 4K 31/32 inch monitor. Screen height is exactly the same, PPI is exactly the same, just wider.

If you like running a 4K 31 inch monitor at 2560 x 1440 you will get a 3250 x 1440 monitor. If you like running a 4K 31 inch monitor at 1920 x 1080 (a little big but native retina 2x), you will get a 2560 x 1080 monitor.

What I do with mine is switch resolutions often (using BetterDisplay which manages switching and refresh rate much better) depending on whether I'm reading, writing or working in DxO PhotoLab or DaVinci Resolve (choose your own media applications).

Where this format (just as 4K 31 inch) lets one down is with PDF of A4 books. The height is a little bit small to be able to comfortably read books with small type.
What if I use 3008x1692 on U3223QE. It perfectly matches 2560x1440 on U2723QE. What resolution will be on U4025QW?

UPD. It looks like I figured out. Instead of 1692 px vertical resolution I just get 1620 that is pretty much the same.

Hey all - just got this monitor for my M1 Max. I'm on Ventura if that matters.

I tried the edid hack using BetterDisplay and the AW editor, but it's not showing 100Hz no matter what I do. I've tried DP and I've tried the included TB4 cable direct to the monitor.

I also have to say, text feels weirdly a bit unfocused and the display looks a bit washed out to me. Is this normal? I'm coming from a M32U.

anyone has tested if the tricks still working on macOS Sequoia?
In 15.0 it still worked. But I am hearing it no longer works in 15.1. Apparently Apple has put more restrictions on EDID overrides. The BetterDisplay developer doesn't feel there is a workaround.

So I'd advise not updating for now if you want to use 100Hz+ with a M1P/Max.

Oh thanks for the feedback!

I’ll stay away until news :)

do you have any link about this issue? I'm searching the github of BetterDisplay, but cannot find anything related to 15.1 and EDID patching

Thanks!

Is anyone with this display getting an M4?

I'm curious if those will drive the display @ 120Hz, or if an M4 Pro will still be needed.

I should have the Mac Mini M4 Pro on Friday. I just got the monitor running last evening with an iMac Pro and was surprised at how well the 2017 iMac is running both its built-in 5K and the Dell at 3360x1417. The iMac Pro has the upgraded Radeon Pro Vega 64, but it's still impressive to me. Of course, it's running so hot that I could turn this room into a sauna. The benefits of Intel Xeon! I can't wait to see the improvements the M4 Pro Mini will make to my setup.
