I wish I could grow a beard and wear leaves for clothes and live off the land, but unfortunately I'm stuck in this society where people put some value on being fashionable, but you know what I kind of like picking out nice clothing and looking good at my work and play even if it means I'm a narcissistic peon of our society's marketing.

This gave me a good laugh, thanks.

I like a nice Rolex and like that submersible metallic feel and having a nice timeless fashionable piece of jewelry on my wrist (which appreciates in monetary value over time, hey what's more functional than an investment).

When you mentioned your watch in the previous post I somehow guessed you were a Rolex guy. Not sure how, but i'm starting to think that Omega folk like me can smell your kind :p Do you wear a sub?

As a side note, I've found my Pebble to be extremely useful. Sure, it's not something I would wear to a work meeting or out at a nice restaurant or bar but I ride a motorbike. My phone is always in my pocket or in a bag and my smart watch allows me to do the following whilst riding:

1. If i'm listening to music, I can change songs, pause or start my music.
2. If I get a phone call, SMS, email, whatsapp etc whilst riding I can see who it is from, read the message and if I think it is urgent, I can pull over and return the message/call.
3. I can run a GPS app on my phone and get turn notifications on my wrist.

They are an incremental releases of the same phone by the same company in an area of technology where the typically included hardware features have almost standardised across the industry and did so years ago.

This is in contrast to a very new area of consumer electronics where the hardware included in devices has varied massively, until these guys came along.

And I did not say that this watch was exactly the same as the Pebble.

This what Pebble uses:
http://www.sharpmemorylcd.com/1-26-inch-memory-lcd.html

That's an ultra low power Sharp "Memory" LCD which uses 1bit/pixel and the charge on Pebble typically lasts 7 days.

Woops, you're right, this watch uses the 1.28" Sharp Memory LCD rather than the 1.26" one in the Pebble.

Pebble has a backlight which can be activated by pushing one of the buttons or by tapping the watch or flicking your wrist (both of which use the accelerometer to detect the movement and illuminate the display.

It's a smart watch where almost all the processing is done on the backend on the phone itself.

Pebble has hardware support for BT4
http://www.slashgear.com/pebble-say...bluetooth-4-0-despite-ifixits-claim-13273736/

I've conceded this. A number of times.

Pretty sure based on the information i've provided, it's you who should probably do your research.

I'd also suggest you check out the UI on the apps they've shown. The music controls are identical (even using the same buttons), along with major similarities across all the other apps they display in their Kickstarter video.

So except for nothing being the same, and the fact that this is a kickstarter prototype, not a production unit, you call them a Pebble ripoff, simply because its a smartwatch. Yep, you def fall in that distortion field Jobs created. By your reasoning Nike should be suing Under Armor, Daimler/Mercedes should be suing every car company on the planet, etc. You know, cause things look "similar". Let me refresh your original quote for you:
So except for the Windows Phone support and the wireless charging, almost everything about this phone is a hardcore ripoff of Pebble, except without the deep pockets.

Meh...

Lol, yeah I love my sub. I used to ride a motorcycle for years, but then I had a daughter (lol?) so I can DEFINITELY see the use of a smartwatch for that function, glancing at your watch for information would be ultra useful, but then again that's another reason to take your eyes off the road. Towards the end of my motorcycle career I began to just leave my cell phone at home, or turn it off when I was riding so I wouldn't be distracted by it.

BTW I love Omega's too, beautiful watches.

You fail to see the whole picture regarding this type of device.

Comments with this kind of 'tone' come off as defensive. Makes it sound like you are the creator and are mad that folks aren't jumping to praise your work and you aren't happy so you are going to just treat everyone like they are stupid.

If you want a project, yours or otherwise, to get backing from folks in a board like this you really have to watch the perceptions you give off. I, for one, who is all for the idea of a smart watch/band won't give this page a view much less money no matter how awesome it is. Because your comments come off as the words of a total jerk to me.

You can perceive the context of my post however you like. Your choice.

Your little tantrum here, gave me a good laugh though.

Dunno, you are the one who seems to be thrown tantrums if others don't agree with you.

Anyone know of a pebble like watch that can play music natively via bluetooth headphones? So hard to find something so simple... that should be in demand. Hate having to hold a phone in one hand one a water bottle in the other.

I know what I'm going to do:
I'll pick up the most competitive smart watch that's out and buy a broken Rolex with a good form factor that fits. And then I'll DIY install the smart watch components into the Rolex shell, keep the glass and dremel a port for the Micro USB or whatever it uses.

You heard it here first!
