I like mac odyssey, i never said I didnt.
I just wish they were less than 20 minutes away.

I wish Apple would open a store in the Spokane area

Mac Odyssey has never provided decent service, they talk down to me like I am stupid when I bring them in a problem

And it seems like no one is ever working there - or I am interrupting their day when I call for a status update on an issue.

Someday I will hope Apple will open one up in Spokane.

I use to work at Mac Odyssey in CDA and helped open, as well worked, for the Spokane location. I no longer work at Mac Odyssey since late 2006, because making money there for me was too slow. However, Mac Odyssey always has, and still is, the best Mac store around in the Inland Northwest.

I worked with many people there and only one guy who should have never been there left long before I did. Mac Odyssey is the only true authorized service center in the Inland NW. Closing of the Spokane location is a big inconvenience to Spokane residents, but Sprague for small retail businesses has always plagued the owners in this area of Spokane. Go to CDA if you want great service, it is worth the drive out to Mac Odyssey.

Not to mention, the staff from both locations is even though Spokane is closed now, are all on the same page. Mac Odyssey will call all its customers on service once done. I was not a tech; I was in sales and web development. The owners Bob and his wife are some of the best bosses I have ever had working anywhere before or after I had left. They treat their employees well and the customers, as it shows through the employees who do a great job to make your visit pleasant as possible.

I called them when our macbook air required service due to a liquid spill and was told ... we can't work on that send it to Apple.

So I've still never had a reason to actually drive to Idaho to check it out.

I'd much prefer a real Apple Store, perhaps in Riverpark Square, or Valley Mall.

The Valley Mall is not an ideal place for a Apple branded store. The Riverpark Square would make sense because of the high foot traffic. Apple goes by that among other things to even consider opening one of their retail stores in any city.

New Apple reseller in Spokane

Just visited the grand opening of Strong Technologlies in Spokane, WA.
They will be offering Mac classes soon....located at 1718 E. Sprague and seem to be a class act. Purchased my iLife 09 program from them and attended one of their free classes in this program. Phone number 509-368-7340, and fax 509-368-7345 or http://spokanemac.com
Hopefully, at last, an extremely professional outlet for Apple lovers.

Is it FINALLY Coming!!!

Saw an article in the Spokesman Review today indicating that while Apple will not comment on opening a store in Spokane ... they do confirm that they are looking to hire employees for "a future store".

There were some hints that it would be in River Park Square, which makes perfect sense. River Park Square , of course, would only say no lease has been signed and that they "talk to lots of prospects tenants".

Don't know about you ... but I'm getting that happy feeling :)

Apple is hiring for a Spokane store on their website. I can't see them not going ahead with it at this point. They may not have signed a lease, but I'm sure they're counting on it. Riverpark Square would be beyond retarded if they didn't let Apple in. That's a lot of traffic, and a lot of that traffic has money to spend at other stores, too.

It's just a matter of when at this point. I feel bad for Strong, though. From what I've heard, Apple approached him initially to set up a retail store. Then they come in with an Apple Store less than a year later. There are things that local Apple shops can do to thrive with Apple Stores nearby, but it takes some finessing.

They've snagged the old Eddie Bauer space and have been doing interviews for applicants. I'd be surprised if it was more than three months before they open up, if that.
