I went from a Rev. B 1.86 SSD. HUGE upgrade.

x2. I just got it yesterday and have only had the chance to run Migration Assistant and get started with some other installations, but so far I really like the new screen (9CDF display). It is a big improvement over the Rev B 1.86GHz SSD model. The colors are a lot deeper.

Also, the computer itself seems a bit better built. There is no play in the screen at all right now. I'm guessing it will loosen a bit over time, but there is about 1/3" of free play on my Rev B, even after I had it tightened at the Apple Store about 6 months ago.

I do miss the backlit keyboard, though. I woke up early and checked the Migration Assistant status. It was nice having the backlit keyboard on the Rev B. It also gives it a "classier" look. Another thing I might miss is the rounded edge design of the Rev B. It feels a little more elegant than the hard-edge "wedge" of the new model. However, for me, getting 4GB and a 256GB SSD are worth the tradeoffs.

I went from a RevC 13" 2.13/2/128 to an 11.6 1.6/4/128 and am extremely pleased. The screen is great. Longer battery life and faster charging. It runs cooler and fans are rarely audible even in clamshell mode running a 24" monitor. It seems at least as fast if not faster. It even runs a Parallels XP VM with ease without heating up.

So if this little brother Air is any indication, the new 13" is a significant upgrade. Like many people I miss the backlit keyboard, but the reflective keys help.

I think this will be my favorite travel Mac ever!

ah ok, i understand ;)

APPLE SSD TS128B is the Toshiba one (much faster)

APPLE SSD SM128 is the Samsung one
That's interesting. Armed with this information I went into disc utility on my 256GB 13 inch MBA and saw the description of my flash storage. It is "APPLE SSD TS256C Media." Thus, it appears that Apple is using Toshiba chips in at least some of its new MBAs.

This is one of the main reasons (if not the reason) the new air feels so much faster compared to the older ones. The fast Toshiba SSD is standard on all Rev Ds. It seems as if Apple used these new drives in newer Rev Cs as well, i was extremely pleased that my Refurb C came with the Toshiba SSD.
