anyone using swiftkey with the 6?

I'm considering getting a 6. I used swiftkey on my previous android and liked it. Specifically what I most liked is that I didn't have to switch screens or hit additonal keys for questions marks, exclamations marks, a simple smiley face, and possibly commas. I hate having to switch screens for things I'm using in almost every text. Very annoying.

Does swiftkey work the same way on iPhone 6? I saw an article that it said it was little different and not quite as good as the Android version. Is this true?

Any observations on this would be appreciated, thx. A swiftkey keyboard that works well on iphone 6 would be a selling point for me.

Works exactly as you describe.

Currently there's a couple of bugs that can make things annoying, but overall it functions very well.

I find third party keyboards to be a bit buggy right now. That being said, swift key is decent.

I am primarily using the stock keyboard. It works for me.

I use it. Not sure what mean by second screen. To get to emoji you gotta hit the globe icon on the keyboard then choose the emoji keyboard, so you have to switch keyboards if that's what you're asking. You also have to hit 123 to access commas, periods and such.

Yes, this is what I'm asking about. Having to hit 123 to switch screens is annoying. So swiftkey has no commas or periods on the main screen? Do they at least have one basic smiley emoji key on the right side of the main screen, and as well as the "?" and "!" as I remember swiftkey having?

You can also double space to put a period.

That sounds right, and there's way to slide your finger up to hit the ? or !, etc. It's a cool little move I didn't discover right away.

It does or does not have a comma on the main screen? (I know about the double space for period, thanks.)

I also know the full emoji menu requires a screen switch, but when I used swiftkey on android, there was one emoji key right there on the main screen, the basic I found it very handy and want to know if the iphone version has that key on the main screen as well.

I'm just really frustrated that Apple hasn't opened up the mic ability for this party keys for voice dictation,but overall the keyboard works very good otherwise with a few minor bugs.

I find iphone to have those problems. Don't recall if swiftkey did. Love how my iphone autocorrected "ooh" the other day, a word I've written many times, into "pooh", a word I've written never.

Yes, I think that's it. Looks a little different perhaps, but probably does what I'm talking about. Nice feature.

I don't see a comma key on the main screen of the image you posted. I was looking at a friend's swiftkey on android this evening, and she definitely had a dedicated comma key on hers.

I loved swiftkey when I was on android and I was jazzed when it became available for iOS but when I go into my messages app Swiftkey works sometime and other times the stock keyboard pops up and I don't know how to keep it on swiftkey. I just use the stock keyboard now cause it was too hit or miss when it wanted to work.

For starters, on Android SwiftKey you get an option to add a raw of numbers on the top of keyboard (and that's a huge deal for me) but that's not possible on the iOS SwiftKey at the moment. As for the question marks etc, they are exactly as on the Android but you don't get the Emoji integrated on it, you got to hit the globe for Emoji keyboard and then back again to swiftkey keyboard. Overall, it's not as smooth or customisable as it is on Android but I am optimist they will work on it and add more features soon.

I've used Swiftkey for a week or so, but I eventually switched back to the stock iOS keyboard because there are so many bugs.

The 2 most annoying bugs I've encountered so far:

1) It seems like each conversation you have (iMessage) has its own preferences for keyboards. For example, I'll switch my keyboard to Swiftkey in my convo with my mom, but when I go to another convo the default option is still the iOS keyboard. Although it's not difficult to switch to Swiftkey, this wasted 2-3 seconds basically made me never even switch to Swiftkey.

2) The most annoying bug of all with this Swiftkey is that when you open up a convo, the conversation is not (by default) scrolled to the bottom. It'll scroll up 5-6 messages to where you can't see the last thing you or the other person typed. This is another issue that drives me crazy. Obviously all I have to do is scroll to the bottom to see, but constantly having to scroll down to the bottom to each convo just to see what I should type is so annoying. Combined with the first bug, it's the reason I can't recommend Swiftkey yet to anyone.

I'm confident iOS 8.1 will fix these issues, but it's still pretty stupid that Apple hasn't had 3rd party keyboards for years and years, and then when they finally adopt them the integration (not just with Swiftkey, with many 3rd party keyboards) is poor.

I like what Swiftkey has done with their app, IMO it's the best 3rd party option out there (and yes I tried Swype). However, Swiftkeys limitations are because of iOS, not bugs in Swiftkeys code. The blame is on Apple, here.

These are significant issues. Anyone else having the same problems -- or none of them?

Are there different versions of IOS keyboard offered with the 6? If so, do any of them have any of the swiftkey advantages?

I've used most of the third-party keyboards and they all have the scrolling issue. They all have flaws and it's just too frustrating to use them.

I currently have a iPhone 6 and came from Android. Swiftkey IMO is the best keyboard on Android.

On IOS 8:

Swiftkey does not have the function where you can hold "Q" and a "1" will show. You have to tab over to the number and punctuaion page for that.

Swiftkey does NOT work for quick reply on lockscreen (not sure about home screen).

Swiftkey would not work for Bank of America passcode page. (Not sure about other Apps that require passcodes)

And yes it has the scrolling issue.

There was an update this past weekend, but once i saw that quick reply still wasn't working, I didnt bother to test out the other bugs.

I LOVE Swiftkey on Android, but it is definitely in its BETA stage for iPhone. I switched back to the stock keyboard and am holding out on Swiftkey until they get several updates to fix many of those issues.

I wish the stock keyboard had the swype feature.

I've been experimenting with both Swype and swift key on a 6 plus. I find Swype to be very accurate on initial "typing", but almost bizarrely inaccurate on its predictive word suggestions. Maybe I'm doing something wrong--suggestions anyone? Swift Key seems a little less accurate with initial typing/input, but seems to have a much better predictive capacity and seems to learn from experience of your typing. Anyone have any suggestions to make Swype's predictive capacity better--just doesn't seem to suggest words that at all resemble what I'm trying to type.

Swiftkey removes the speak to text option, which I use occasionally. So I just use the stock option for now. Swyping didn't really speed up my texting.

I am unable to use Swiftkey on my 6+ as %80 of the time the keyboard won't pop up until I restart the phone. Sucks.
