I also have the 12.9“ but I am considering the 11“ depending on how things go at WWDC. If iPad OS supports external screen resolutions then having the 11“ would be perfect. You get great portability and when at a desk, just connect it via external monitor, without jail bars, and you are good to go.
What do you you mean how things go at Wwdc, what would happen so significant to make a difference.

I do, and I also used my 2018 12.9" until this one without it. However, I did preorder the new Brydge keyboard/trackpad thing which is supposed to ship later this month to try it out. I like that it looks like a little MacBook Pro, but has the magnetic cover so I can just pop it out and into the slim magnetic Apple case.

I didn't use the keyboard before now because I mainly used it for web browsing, YouTube, editing photos in Lightroom, and drawing. But also because mouse support didn't even exist when I first got my 2018 12.9". Furthermore, the Magic Keyboard is really expensive, wobbly, and has a tiny trackpad. The new Brydge keyboard is $100 cheaper, looks more solid in a lap, has a row of function keys, has backlit keys, has larger key travel, and has a large trackpad that supposedly really good. It also attaches magnetically instead of using those stupid little grippy bits they used to use that can scratch up the iPad and leaves it unprotected on the rear. I'm looking forward to trying it out!

I think (s)he means that if the ability to multitask on a big external monitor were significantly improved, there would be less of a draw to having a big iPad— because you could have an external monitor when you want that big screen and the smaller iPad when you want to be mobile.

I agree, that is really the only major hope I have for WWDC. Otherwise I’m perfectly happy with ioS. I mean, I would still keep both sizes of my iPad, because I do really like the big screen for playing games and for writing. But I wouldn’t really need a Mac if the iPad had better multitasking/external monitor capabilities.

Use mine exclusively with the Folio. No need to add extra bulk to this skinny beauty.

Wow this thing looks AWESOME.

I do love the white MKB but the price tag SUCKS. It’s a good thing it at least feels worth it.

Let us know how you like it. I can’t use this iPad without a board so I think I’ll stick with my MK, it’s just the form factor on this thing looks legit. Does it give you a second charging port like the Apple one does? Do you know?

Wouldn't need a Mac? Bite your tongue DF. :p We shall chalk that statement up to you still being a little sleepy and not realizing what you were saying. :D

Decided I will be a 12.9 iPad user for this year. If it gets too unruly I will sell and buy an 11inch. I just don’t want to return at this point and regret it and have to wait over a month to get another.

I’m going to stick it out with my iPad (first time iPad owner/user) in place of laptop. I will sacrifice my bigger screen (14 inch) and wouldve spent just a little more. I think this is more than enough machine for me. It’s a nice change to have an iPP finally. When I got the M1 MBP in November I just wasn’t impressed… as awkward as I still feel with an iPad I think it’s the right path for me. The price tag is OUCH but I still have an old MPB that’s kicking should I need it. I think if there was ever a time to get your first iPad the M1 is a nice intro.

I started a return on the MKB (in case WWDC makes me regret not waiting) but I will more than likely keep it. I considered initiating a return on the iPP (just to buy time) but it wants me to sign out of iCloud and I really think I do love this device… there’s just so much I don’t know about it I was hoping to buy a little extra time. I just don’t want to go through all the hassle of signing out. I love the MK too. I know a MBP (which I absolutely DO NOT NEED) would come with a heftier price tag.

Signing out of iCloud puts the return in the system. You can sign back into iCloud after you initiate a return online. Just don't forget to sign out again, should you really wish to return.

You are right. I forgot about that aspect.
Aw y’all are awesome for sharing this insight. I really do think I’ll keep the items but I initiated JUST IN CASE…. I doubt I’ll actually return either. Besides, I bought the Apple Pencil when I preordered the iPP like a bonehead so it’s mine no matter what happens.

What happens if a return is initiated and the return window expires? Does Apple just consider it as a change of mind? I’d imagine so. ?

EDIT: the tap on the trackpad feature on the MK is rad. I‘m glad I learned that trick. This really is a nifty device… it’s just…. Ya know, got an Apple price tag.

The silent click on the keyboard is great. :D I use it all the time.

If you don't follow through with a return, Apple considers the matter closed unless you initiate another return before the 14 days expire.

Currently holding both sizes, I really can’t decide between the 12.9” w/o the Magic Keyboard and the 11” w/ the MK (since the cost of the two as compared are similar). I’m leaning towards needing the MK to help prop my iPad when in use, typing messages (as I’m currently doing), and overall protection. I just can’t stop looking at the 12.9’s beautiful Mini LED screen…

Seeing your signature makes my heart sad Miss Bea. I see you are using a Garmin now instead of the Apple Watch. I know that is probably due to your running but, I just want to say Jesus still loves you and you need to come back to the Apple Watch. :D

Yeah, I’m kind of disappointed theres not any hidden features for MM2. It’s a smooth experience, but hoped Apple would provide something clever. I actually wouldn’t mind having the option for a tap instead of clicks for the MM2.

I’m about to heal your broken heart and then break it again ❤️‍?

Whenever I have to type for long periods of time, I would just switch to my MBA. Otherwise, Scribble is the way to go! I never intended for the iPad to replace my laptop, so there's no point in me buying the keyboard.

No doubt! But really, I'm going to fully abandon the Garmin (except on runs) when they release the next Apple Watch. My series 3 is barely hanging on by a thread like my 2013 MBP. I know I buy Apple products like I'm made of money but a girl has to pace herself. ?
Glad to see you will be repenting for going to the dark side and will upgrade your Apple Watch.

We now return you to The Roundtable iPad chat with your host kp98077. :D
