Yeah, thats the thing. I don't travel much, commute is 10 minutes, I'm mostly home with my 802.11N network. My parents have Wifi. My job has Wifi. Etc, etc. I think I'm going Wifi.

Sounds like you're there! Relax, be happy, and get one on the first day!!!

The decision is simple. It makes no sense for me spend $130 extra and then pay another $30? I have an iphone with an Rock app called MyWi. Turns the iphone into a hotspot and costs me a one time charge of $10. amazing app it is :)

More and more, I'm beginning to think I don't need the 3G. DAMN IT APPLE!!!!! LOL!!!! :). And I probably could save money in the long run.

Has a JooJoo see the light of day? I've not see it actually in the wild.

True been waiting a long time according to engadget they are shipping. I realy would like to get my hands on both and see what works the best. I have a feeling ipad will win just feel apples overcharging and leaving stuff out as always to sell more of there products. 16gig ipad it will be if any

I'm actually wondering about this very thing right now. I have a 16 GB iPhone 3G and I MAX that out all the time. However, I have a GPS app on it, many other apps (most of which I hardly ever use), 8 GB of music and it's jailbroken. I am currently getting a 16 gb iPad with the plan on using it mainly for iBooks and web stuff. I will be using Pages from iWork and possibly Numbers and Keynote. Not sure about Keynote...I have my MBP with me for presentations when I need it...I'd rather use the iPad to control Keynote on my MBP and have my notes on my iPad! I will probably load up movies when going on trips and a few TV shows as needed. I'm really not planning on putting more than a couple of playlists on it as I'll have my iPhone for music 99% of the time. Now I'm thinking I may wish I had a 32 gb model. However, I'm just not sure I'm going to need that much space!

What do you guys think?

I think I'm slowly waffling back to 3G iPad. LMAO! Especially seeing as how my wife just told me I'm not allowed to get an iPad next year, (although that hasn't stopped me ever before). UGHHH don't know what do.

My debate was not over 3G vs. WiFi. I already knew I was going WiFi only since I have a MiFi and have access to AT&T hotspots. I was going back and forth on size between 16gb and 32gb and ended up with the 32gb.

An article today said the JooJoo is shipping now and should be in customer hands by the 29th.

For Me It's Gonna Be...

the 3G unit with 32GB.

I don't have an iPhone. We just recently switched to Verizon from ATT, so no iPhone on the near (2 year) horizon.

I don't have ready access to WiFi hotspots, nor do I want to have to search for them on the fly, particularly in a strange city.

Though I don't travel that much, I figured that for the odd business or motorcycle trip, having the ability to get connected in places I can't get WiFi is a plus.

I'm not currently paying for a data plan, so I won't be doubling services.

I figure the sweet spot for memory is is the 32GB unit. I have a limited number of apps that I carry on my iPod Touch, and don't feel the need to carry every ripped CD in my library, nor a lot of video content.

Like one of the earlier posters, I have been stuck in too many places for meetings, etc. with minutes (or hours) to kill and no access. That makes 3G and $30 a month a no brainer to me. That said, I decided to hold out f a couple reviews and to give Apple some time to solidify their app offerings...

Question

What is Apples return Policy for this thing? I am leaning to wifi only but if I get it, use it for a week, then decide that "gee, i really get a lot of use out of this thing and could sure use 3G"

Is it only a 10% restock fee?

Going bare bones here. 3G would be nice but wouldn't use it much & can't justify price of admission. Here's to hoping it's standard in next year's model.

16GBs is plenty of storage to start with. I won't be putting any music on it which is the really space eater for me. Maybe a movie or two, a few books, mags... all stuff that will be synced, viewed/read, deleted. App are not much bigger than iPhone version. The heaviest app out now I think is GPS at around 1.1GB, but no need for that w/ WiFi version. Most games and stuff are under 100MB, maybe a few at 500MB.

I figure next year 32GB will be the entry level storage so I'll dump my 16GB as soon as Apple issues a special event invitation. I'm betting I'll get $350-400 for it.

I would only count on $300 max, if 32GB is entry level at that point, the price will also be lower.

So you need to compete with a brand new 32GB at probably $399

Yeah, but I'll sell it before the announcement. It's what I use to do with my iPods before I stopped buying a new one every year. The iPad will retain good resale value as all Apple products do unless there is some deep discounting going on.

Well I've succumbed. 64GB WiFi iPad it is. LMFAO! Oh well! I think it's the right choice for me too.

I'm going with 3G and 16GB. I don't have an iPhone and find that wifi on my iTouch is only reliable at schools and libraries. I also don't like having to buy some junk food at a cafe to get a password.

I've reserved a 64 GB WiFi-only iPad for pick-up at the store on April 3rd. After I've used it for a while I'll have a better idea about how useful the 3G/WiFi one would be instead or in addition......and then I'll probably pick up a 64 GB WiFi/3G version and decide what to do about the WiFi only one.

I figure I probably won't need the 3G at all.

I guess we will see if I'm kicking myself for getting 64GB WiFi on April 3rd. I have a feeling I'll be fine :)

I have been going back and forth, but I think I settled on the 64gb wifi as well. I decided that I simply did not want to pay anymore money to access the internet. I pay $30 to at&t, and about $45 to my ISP.

At times you may wish you had gone 3G, but I will just whip out the iPhone at those times.

1000% agree. That's exactly what happened with me.

I'm going with a 64GB wifi model.

I always have my iPhone and don't feel like paying a $130 premium plus another $15 or $30 for internet access. It's nice if you're in a crunch, but then I'd just use my iPhone. I'd be more enticed if, say, I spend $15 for access but get to keep the 250mb until it runs out rather than expires in 30 days.

At any rate, I only need the wifi model, and I think it looks better without the big black bar on the back.

the only thing that has me flip flopping between 3g and wifi is i dont want to get charged from verizon for the tethering i plan on doing with the droid
