It's an automated response. I got the same thing.

I actually wanted to do some of the reading today while my wife is at work.
 
I saw a tweet from O'Reilly Media today that they expect to have a fix in place for missing downloads no later than Monday.

Update: now they're saying

Readledocs

I subscribe to Orielly Safari. They let you convert some book chapters to pdf. Readledocs handles them fine. Ibooks doesn't have much in the way of technical books, Amazon has a few. The Kindle reader seems to work ok. For PDF's I don't think you can go wrong with Readledocs. I've had a couple of crashes but nothing serious.
