MAMP Pro 6.5 is out with two installers, one for Intel and one for Apple Silicon.

I know the MAMP Pro app itself is Apple Silicon native now.

But can anyone confirm if PHP / MySQL / etc included with the v6.5 ARM version download are now Apple Silicon native as well?

If so... how does it all perform?

I started to roll up my sleeves to put MAMP on my new m1 Mini, but then I stumbled across Local by Flywheel and I don't bother with MAMP any more.

Thanks for the replies. Someone must be using the latest MAMP Pro 6.5 on M1 and know if PHP / MySQL etc is now native?

About to join the Apple Silicon party with MAMP.

There should be no need to setup a Homebrew version of everything yourself unless you really want to because MAMP Pro itself and PHP etc is Apple Silicon native with MAMP Pro.

I'll know more pretty soon. Planning to manually migrate over. Not looking forward to Apple Mail and MAMP Pro moves but everything else should be okay.

I installed MAMP Pro 6.6 for Apple Silicon and it worked just fine. I can also confirm that every component is fully native on Apple Silicon. So far so good!

Just have to migrate all my my sites / databases / settings next and see how it really performs.

I’ve experimented with a Homebrew-based nginx/php/MariaDB system based on my previously published guide, and I can report that everything runs natively and well, with the notable exception of elasticsearch, which is instantly grabs 50% of total RAM. Not sure yet if this is configuration thing or bad memory management by Java.
