Gotta love that Amercian work ethic  always doing the minimum you feel you can get away with...

How about being on time, every time. How about doing everything you're supposed to be doing, all the time. How about not doing anything against company policy, period, never mind getting caught.

It's not really that hard...no wonder there's an "immigrant problem" in this country (and I'm one of "them" by the way) :)

Good luck! <--- seriously
FYI, i work hard at my job, and am always on time. I always do my job to the best of my ability, and always come out even on my cash drawer. (although i have been a penny or two off a couple of times)

Why? If I am not compensated in proportion to the labor I provide and the profit that labor results in, why should I put in any bit more than is absolutely necessary to pay the rent, to buy the groceries, et cetera?

I'm not going to break my back for anyone. I'm not going to work late for that extra DVD, certainly not when my boss buys a new DVD player with that same hour of my labor. I will work the absolute minimum, in other words, because I am paid less than my time is worth to begin with.

In my free time, I will do what I want.

Hard? No. Stupid? Absolutely. But that's a problem with life in the US. Some people are forced to undergo some stupid **** in order to survive. The only thing that keeps this economy on its feet is that there are always people scampering across fences or sailing in boats to do wretched jobs for chicken feed.

The "immigrant problem" as I see it isn't that you aren't flooding in -- it's that you're coming in so slowly that companies are having to move overseas in order to find people to exploit. With less demand for immigrants, the diversity of the US seems to be increasing less than it used to. Our economy is growing rather slowly. China is poised to kick our ass.

And why? Not because of work ethic -- because of idiocy.

Good luck! <--- seriously
