Most likely because of your hard drive configuration.

wow, you ordered the 8GB ram from apple?

Mine is in LANTAU ISLAND HK.

I think the time is in China's time zone, so mine will possibly be here on Wednesday.

The i5s that beat it were either in 64bit mode or a different version of geekbench. Need to compare apples with apples.

Yeah, you're right. i5s score around 6.500, the only i7 scores 7.000. It's less than 10%. 100$ on 800$ is 12,5%! ;-)

Did you see the big jump in the i5s with 8GB RAM compared to 4? Average difference had to be close to 500, if not more. Seemed like 8GB RAM units were consistently averaging 7,000-7,100 compared to 6,300-6,500 for 4GB.

Yes, that's a good point. It seems that a RAM upgrade is more effective than a CPU upgrade (test result unit per $). Obviously, only about this test.

My mini just landed in Anchorage. Delivery by 10:30 Thursday. 8GB crucial ram slated for delivery same day :D

I priced 2x8GB sticks, think I'll wait lol

My man just updated too. but it looks like I won't see it until friday? Hmmm. My crucial upgrade is already here waiting on my desk.

Yes! My i7-Dual core just arrived this morning! Yay!

But I'm at work and shan't be able to play with it until tonight. Sigh!

Bummer! You should post some benchmark scores here after you get it up and running. I'm still debating on i5 vs. i7 and now have been considering the server model...

I'll do that! Both with the base RAM and with 8GB ( and before I install anything).

I am very sad to report that mine says it is still in transit from Anchorage, Alaska. I thought it would be here this morning. Very disappointing.

Mines in MEMPHIS, TN as of today, be here tomorrow the 28th.

from SHENZHEN CN
to LANTAU ISLAND HK
to CHEK LAP KOK HK
to Memphis, TN (lol)
to Oregon...

Yeah, would of done OWC ram and SSD(if they have the extra hdd controller harness) not sure if they do yet?! Plus, I would of wanted the biggest ssd and the biggest hdd they offer for the mini and that would be even more spendy)

I just wanted to get out of a 15" laptop (macbook pro), so I bought a viewsonic (2ms refresh) 24" LED display to go with my new mini. I'll be triple booting it with OSX on the SSD, /home on the 750gb hd, debian linux and win7 somewhere on the 750gb as well.

The viewsonic has 2 hdmi ports, so my other mini(server) that resides under my desk(along side a synology DS411+), instead of screen sharing with that server I'll just run a hdmi from it to the new monitor.

Received mine this morning! I've been busy all day moving data from my PC and configuring things.
I ran geek bench and got a score of 6912, not to shabby. My older quad core Q6600 PC had a score of only 4100.
So far, so good! :D
